I'm not sure what variety, I know it is a cubensis though. I'm thinking it was Hawaiian cos it was a big print just folded a lot. My question is should I try to mess with it or should I send it to someone else to five it a try?

Do iiiiit, that's a cool experiment. I've read stories of folks using 10-20 year old prints.

I have a few 5 year old prints I forgot about and just found a couple days ago. How this goes for you will determine how willing I am to put effort into em 😂 good luck! Can’t wait to see how it turns out if ya do.

Oh shit, now I got hella peer pressure
Edit: how should I go about it? Just try to scrape onto agar, or make syringe, or try to swab?.....also what happened to glad mini rounds? Did they stop making them altogether?

From what I’ve been reading, you may need to rehydrate the old ones to bring em back to life so to speak. I have seen that you can do this by simply making the spore print into a few syringes and let them sit for a day then put em to agar.
I’ve never done that so I can’t say I know it works but when I was browsing through older posts I seen a few trusted cultivators have success with it.
Since seeing you post this, I had agar already prepped and sterile so I just went ahead and used an old print I wasn’t the happiest with just so I could toss the rest outside after use. Didn’t wanna keep it after opening it and scraping off some spores with my exacto knife. I dipped the tip of the blade in agar and used that to get some of the spores onto the blade then zig zagged it up 😅. Wasn’t too comfortable putting the print back up after scraping agar onto the aluminum so I put the rest of the print outside. I don’t recommend using the agar stickiness like I did because if you wanna keep the print afterwards, it could germinate some spores on the foil due to the left behind agar on it.
You got this. I’ll post a pic of my results once anything starts showing up. You’ve inspired me
