My first Blue Oyster grow

This is my first oyster block. Blue oyster. Clear tote with perlite. Kept outside in shed. Temps around 58-65 consistently. Perlite on bottom. 3 pound block of sawdust with bran. Air pump with 2 outlets running 24/7. Manually fan several times per day. Purchased from a company within Canada. First flush was 312g fresh. from pin set to harvest was 9 days
soaked block in water for 24 hours and its back in chamber with humidity at 95 plus. again 24/7 air pump and manually fanning several times per day. misting as needed. Have a small 4w LED strip light sitting on top for light. 3500K warm white.
Also my caps are small and have long stems. I understand its from too much Co2?
Few Questions.
1)At first caps were nice and blue. But faded to grey. Is there anyway to get them to finish more blue? Temps were 55-65 consistently
2)Will my 2nd flush have a similar weight? (312g) or less?
3) can I break up this block and inoculate aspen bedding?

They need more air. I bury my spent substrate in a shady place and they have already produced outside oysters several times. My co-workers also want to take some to bury on their property.

Will burrying in the shadow also work in the summer (it is very hot here during summer, many days above 30°C/86°F). Will the mycelium survive in the ground if it stays moist but will not fruit or will it die and this only works in autumn or spring?

I'm in a winter (dry) season now, so will be able to tell in 2-3 months time how it survives mild winter.
You can also see this video from Urban Farmer, he was given spent mushroom substrate.

1. Normal for blues. The color spreads out as they get bigger, making it less bold. Your temps were good.
2. No, it will be much less.
3. Maybe? I'd just bury it though. Use fresh, un-fruited woodchips to inoculate outdoor beds.
You can bury the blocks any time, they'll fruit at random in the summer whenever they get wet enough. Buried oysters can survive cold/winters depending on the strain, blues are very cold hardy.
