Serious eye candy harvest of Fiji Cubensis 1

We've been having serious joy lately exploring loads of monotub variations and many different varieties of fungi at the same time, the Fiji Cubensis have been one of the most visually enjoyable for me (and that's before eating them), on the most recent harvest i produced a little vid to share the joy, also squeezed in some grow education in there so it's not just eye candy and showing off.
it is amazing how many folks out there are convinced that using a dehydrator destroys potency, I must get told at least 50 times a week on my various videos, got so bad i now just say yes I don't actually enjoy potent fungi which is why i dry them using a dehydrator, amazingly some folks don't get that i'm being sarcastic there
Dehydrating magic mushrooms safely for storage is essential and really easy, unmodified monotub madness in this video with the visually amazing Psilocybe Fiji Cubensis, in this video we go through harvesting and preparing for drying, then drying safely using a dehydrator before vacuum packing for the perfect storage and protection of the medicine/sacrament for years to come.
Background audio is an except I selected from an old Terence Mckenna speech I called - The Truth About Ego
Started these on agar from a MS LC, then onto corn in jars, then spawned into monotubs with coir and verm only, we took a few clones from this crop and are now running those rather than the MS, all done in a home made still air box.

I really don't know where folks get that idea dehydrator temp set at 35c, psilocybin melting point 228c, but regardless of that lots of people seem convinced it's true, and, if it is true then the psychoactive potency of placebo is even stronger than psilocybin, so alles goed
Never ever had a complaint, i'd be the very first person complaining too about lack of potency, especially with any variety of cubensis, i grew up on Semilanceata and Cyanescens, so most varieties of cubensis don't fully hit the spot even eaten fresh, i still enjoy them though if i can't get my cyans or liberty caps

I left my dehydrator on all day at work today, guess those guys will be non-magical, maybe I can sell them to the Italian market.
You can cook mushrooms in a wok with a big open flame, your still gonna feel the magic

idea comes from 10 to 17 year old posts and people are still afraid of drying mushrooms in dehydrator but okay to use oven with low temp at 50c and door slightly open even at 50c oven are design to hold heat and the actual temp goes up every hour even door slightly open 6 or 12 hours later shrooms are dry at god knows what temperature potency completely gone. when i heard about shoormery read old posts after posts lol this fear is not going to die any time sooner. old posts are fun to read.

This sounds like trollery. This thread better not degenerate into an off topic shitshow.
To the OP. Your mushrooms are looking a bit lanky and perhaps like they could benefit from either more light or FAE or both. They looked choked and haggard to my eye.

I had the same thoughts mate but when i checked up on the strain it's quite a common look and often desired, i'm also not getting it on any of my other varieties in exact conditions so we just went with it, they look so good it's hard to be upset about it. My first thoughts were needing more FAE assuming they were going leggy to escape the co2 build up, but we messed about (as you do) and they didn't do as well, looking forward to seeing if we get different behaviour of the clones we've got on agar right now.
this quote is from the strain seller
Quote:
When you grow the Fiji Cubensis with, for instance a PF TEK, the stems are often very slim and needle like. The Fiji is a beautiful elegant mushroom when fully grown and according to spore sellers it is recommended to advanced growers and scientists because of the sensitive reactions to changing growing conditions

I don’t buy the whole “it’s the strain” argument. Shit like that is barely selectable and I could make the same argument in reverse. This is how Figi turned out for me.

They may have a bit of fuzz but they are not lanky. Stipes were pretty solid.

Certainly wasn't arguing, not worth the effort all that madness, was just sharing what i'd read from the seller. This tub here (Mazapatec) sat right next to that one under same lights and FAE regime

Those look great, the first pic is what we are expecting the clones to come out like, compared the multi spore tub in the video

Don’t believe what most of the vendors say. 96% of it is pure bullshit. “Strains” for the most part don’t mean much, there are a few exceptions.

Yeah marketing hard.
I kinda stopped labeling my cubes if they look like every other cube unless there is an obvious phenotypical difference.

I’ve forgotten fruits in a dehydrator for a week. Not a big deal IMO. Water is the real enemy, not heat.

Aye I totally agree, please if you are ever bored visit my youtube channel, not to watch any videos , but instead to tell people who post the comment (always attached to story when it happened) like it is written in stone dehydrators destroy potency that using a dehydrator does not reduce potency
It's like comment whackamole, everytime i answer two comments wiv numbaz und skience i get 3 news ones with a tale of yore and legend about when all the boomers got ruined ah cannit keep up man no more videos about drying them for my channel

I know that feeling, it was what led us to choose the Fiji for a nice change of look, the clones we took from the multi spore run in the video were from the densest slightly shorter fruits, so they will be less leggy next time around but still have a lovely visual bag appeal about them once all dry and vac packed, running a few versions of true albinos at the minute too just for new eye candy, love that iridescent blue white glow, i'm on my desktop pc at the minute, i'll see if i have some pics on my cell

How long did the Avery’s take to pin for you??
My first ones are just coming in and look just like those. Short with crazy stretched veils.
Took quite a while to pin though like 19 days.
The dehydrator kills potency thing has got to be bunk ms genetics and people refusing to accept it for some reason. I’d seen stories about weak shroom but didn’t realize how bad it could get until recently when I grew some Tasmanian that look great but might not actually have psilo in them lol.
First time I’ve took an eighth and not felt a thing. Although they did spend a lot of time in the dehydrator...

similar timescale to you, just past a couple of weeks, we've got 4 versions of PE running right now and they are all really going slow, started the same time as these albinos and nowhere near them yet
