Is this a bridgessi and how to process?

Got this cactus about a year back, from some random seller on ebay. Pretty sure it is a bridgessi but want to double check I am taking the right stuff.
Also, last time I ate cactus I still had my blender and took the green goo straight without any boiling. Do not want to go through so much liquid again so planning to boil it. I have heard that if you are boiling it you do not really have to cut off the waxy layer and spines. Is that true and if not how finely should I chop it up? Would really appreciate a link to a short guide.
Thank you for your help

not super expert but to me it does look like Bridgesii. and about the process you are asking: most people agree that for boiling you can leave the waxy skin and the core but when eating it raw you should discard them.

Yes that's a bridge--
You can just slice the plant into thin (~1/8 inch thick) stars and low boil. Spines and all. Might not use that corky brown flesh though-- if it's not green there's no goodies. I put about 1/2 oz white vinegar in the water at the start to acidify and aid the extraction, use just a couple inches more water than it takes to cover/float the plant matter. Won't ever foam up or get slimy. I do not do multiple pulls, I just pour in additional water when it gets low. The vinegar will evaporate out of the water as it boils so won't make your end product taste like shit as citric acid or lemon/lime juices will. I personally boil/low simmer for around 24 hours over 2 days, but that's because I make sure I get everything out that's possible. You can get away with just several hours, but if you half-ass the boil time you may well end up with a partial extraction and a weak experience. May be fine, may not be.
When you're done simmering it, strain through a mesh collander, press it with a ladle or something to push out ALL THE WATER IN THE FLESH that you can-- then just reduce the strained liquid at lower heat (don't burn it, it'll taste like shit) until it's at a cup or two, however you want it. Major advice is to let the finished liquid sit undisturbed for at least a day or two in the fridge, because the silty flesh bits that settle out are probably 75% of the shit that will make you puke if they're mixed in. Once it's settled out completely, you can pour your clarified liquid into a different cup, leaving the slimy silt in the original one. Finally, I always add equal amounts of strong coffee to my brew, which is symbiotic to the experience and helps a lot with the taste.

Thank you very much for all the advice, I will follow your instructions on preparation. I hope to go deep with this one, gonna combine it with some pot brownies and see where the experience takes me

How big is that cactus?
I know bridges are potent, but anything less than 12 inches might be underwhelming, given how thin this plant looks.
But even if it's only 10 inches it should give a nice experience, especially with weed edibels.

It is just over 12 inches long. I have not watered it for 10 months now, so hopefully that has increased the mescaline content. Given how long the cactus trip lasts, I can always supplement it with half a tab of acid or some DMT if things are looking too mellow but I reckon it should be fine. Even on smaller doses of psychedelics, I can usually get pretty vivid visuals when I smoke up

Yeah, especially with mescaline low doses are lovely, too.
And the addition of some lsd is superb. The best trips I had so far involved mescaline and lsd. Great synergy.
