blow out
    #26810871 - 07/08/20 11:46 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

So I did a big no no today I accidentally let my PC run dry, and boy is my face red. I know its a cardinal sin when working with a PC and do intend to be more careful from here on out but I have a quick question if anyone knows.

so I was using theses plastic lids I've used several times now I'm sure some of you are familiar if not here they are. I was blown away to see they had totally melted in the PC. This has to be because I let it run dry right?

Hope that PC isnt too warped from the accident. Long while back I committed the cardinal sin and caused my old PC to wobble on a flat surface (yea some say you can just give it a good whack and flatten it back out, but I chose to buy a new one).

When I did it the tyvek filters shrank up into little quarter size discs and the rubber seal on the lids half melted.

Doesn’t take long, I totally forgot about it while it was venting and came back an hour later thinking it would be fine.

What kind of PC do you use, and did you run it dry by forgetting it while you were venting or was it during the regular run with the weight on?

If you have a PC with a gauge it helps to tape a few coins to the weight so you can stay at your desired pressure without steam constantly escaping and risking running dry

I can't for the life of me find documentation on it. The manufacturer is essentailhome and model number is VRC 99288 if that helps. It was during the regular run.
