Finally brought old pupper home. Got alot of maybes and mights but he's worth trying to see everything.

All his counts are way up. Maybe Cushing's, maybe liver disease, maybe an infection. He's going on antibiotics and an appetite stimulator to see what that does.

I'm just glad the anxiety of waiting to see if it's terminal cancer is over. And the vet says he doesn't seem to be in much pain, which was my bigger concern.

If it happens to be his time at least I'll know we did what we could to keep him here, happy and healthy, until his old mule ass was good and ready to go.

Thanks Sonic, btw.

hope your dog turns out ok

my moms shih tzu is like 14 or something and had something mysterious happen to her, we thought she had a stroke, all of a sudden she could barly stand and couldnt walk at all, so it seemed like a stroke but it only lasted a day, by the next day she was doing some very crooked walking like her hind legs were not coordinated with her front legs and by a month later she was back at 95%,even able to tackle the stairs by herself,  its been a few months and she has a ever so slight crookedness to her walk, you only notice if you look for it, I have even taken her on half hour walks since then

All my pets have been special. Meat has always been a momma's boy and a mother bear. When my cousins were little he'd protect them from the other dogs. He'd puff out his chest and growl at them, bulldoze them if he had to, to make sure they acted right around him and the little ones. Kittens and puppies to. He taught and protected and mothered them all.

And he was right there by my side mothering me through all my physical therapy and helping me find my legs again.

I doubt I ever had or will have another pet that incidentally effected so many lives.

I dunno if he was blessed to have me but I was certainly blessed to have him. Especially for so many years.

By reading this I can tell he must if felt blessed to have you in his life. We have these members if our families for parts of our lives but to them we are their entire lives.

He sounds like such a good doggo, and you are a good mom

Yeah with how he tends to bowl through everything it wouldn't surprise me if he picks up and I get more time with him.

But aside from cataracts and losing his hearing he's been in good health up to this point. Between that and his age I'm coming to terms with the fact he won't be here much longer.

But he seems more alert today and finally eating a little bit and I'm so happy he seems a little bit more with it.
So they might be right that an infection was messing with him.

When I was a teenager I told my dad I wanted a dog for my birthday. I didn't get a dog.

2 weeks later my neighbor said they had family drop off this puppy that they couldn't care for. It was obvious they got the dog because he was cute but were unprepared to actually raise it. My dad was like just leave the dog with us.

He had obviously been abused by those people and it was alot of work to deal with his anxiety but he came to me, I didn't go searching for him. I wanted a dog and the universe gave me a special little boy.

Shipperkes are adorable puppies

:Awemazing: thsts such a cute dog!
That's a heartwarming story, if your dad got you a dog you wouldn't of had the opportunity to have him in your life. You're right the universe always comes full circle.
That's really good to hear how hes see I g better today. Heres hoping his meds are working!

My first dog was from an abused home, he loved me but bit my friend while we were play fighting but must of thought I was being attacked. My moms boyfriend shot him which devastated me.
He was only protecting.

I'm so sorry Sonic.

Unfortunately that was the way alot of older folks thought of pets. They were property, not sentient beings with their own feelings.

Meat bit me in the face once. Looked worse than it was. If my parents had seen all the blood dropping down my face they probably would have demanded I put him down. But in the age of awareness I knew it was my fault for not respecting him as a dog. He simply wanted me to fuck off and I didn't listen so he snapped at me. My face should have been no where near his.

Instead of writing him off as a bad dog I learned and probably saved myself from worse down the line.

He never growled or snapped at me again.

I'm glad times change.

My dad had a dog when I was little. All I remember was she had a beautiful red coat. He had her put down when she supposedly bit the neighbor kid. Who was probably antagonizing her. That's just what they did back then. I'm glad things change.

Yeah I've had a couple dogs I would never imagine biting anyone. Meat, at that point, I would have put in that category. That was my mistake. Thinking that he could be pushed when he was showing all the signs of being extremely uncomfortable.

Truthfully I don't think he even meant to bite me. He was definitely as surprised as I was, and very ashamed. Animals and people both, at some point instinct kicks in. Or anxiety overwhelms reason. And honestly that's just nature.

Work has been really tilting today.
"work faster"

Well I'm working slow because I didn't sleep well last night and I have alot going on, as I explained to you, and I'm trying to not make a mistake in this new thing I'm still learning. But OK.

I did a decent amount of work today. And fucked up almost all of it :cookiemonster:

And in another day or 2 I'll be bombarded with more CYA shit about "Hey cookie you did this wrong."

You see because telling me I'm not good enough isn't because they care, it's because they need to cover their own ass - CYA, and if that means throwing me under the bus they'll do it.
Fine balance between getting sued and sucking up to corporate, you see. Er sticking to policy.

I love corporate America. Such pleasant. Much fun.

I am demonstrating ~karma~. And I have alot of leverage I can use. That I will use because the amount of cares I have for corporate and management is pretty small. But first we practice karma.

:waitingpatiently: Not that that ever seems to do alot but freak people out temporarily.

:ohwell:

I'm done for the day.

Yea its true that was a shared mentality for a lot of older people back then as sad as it is.
Of course that's not how I was brought up to see my furry family members as. My moms boyfriend at the time was also a major scumbag by nature anyways.

Also I agree, that was his way of telling you to get away. We know when dogs dont want to be messed with they throw the signs up pretty good. Cant blame him for reacting, like you said its pretty much his way of saying fuck off. Good he diddnt growl or try to bite you again afterwards. He probably knew that was wrong of him to do as well haha.

That's really sad, all thi ts should be taken into consideration if something lime thst happens. You dont put a cat down for biting or scratching when you fucknwith them and they react. Same should be for a dog, but if someone is dumb enough to antagonize a big dog then they deserve to get bit and learn a lesson.

Cookie, how old is your dog that's going through this again? And I'm really bad at these things because I don't know what to say. Such an awful part of life, having to think about saying goodbye. Anyway hope you're doing okay all things considered.

Logic, sorry to hear about your job, man. You're young though and you'll be off to bigger and better things in no time.

JAF good to hear you got extra cash

Sup sluts

Got a baller hotel, this shits like a decent sized apartment. Got to sorta sleep in a king size bed for once and thank god it's good for boning. Got up to some fat doses last night, like 400 and 600mics of L and I had rue. Bunch of extracts and edibles. Got nicely toasted. They've got this nice saltwater pool and that seems to be the perfect size. We got lucky and no one wanted the pool and we literally had the whole thing to ourselves for the whole fucking peak+. I played tunes on my phone and we vaped in their little shower thingy and a lil sexy time in the pool haha. Heckin yeah. Mission accomplished. Gonna have a bunch of dranks and weed and just relax in our apprently private pool. Killin it

I had a thought last night. You want someone who can finish your sentences, because when you're old they'll remember all the stuff you forgot. So even when the world slowly drifts away, there's still enough of the two of you to keep you afloat :awehigh:

Life's a trip. Keep it shroomy y'all
