Wierd dreaming experiences 3

Several years ago. Was dreaming about nothing very extraordinary. Towards the end of that dream, I entered a small room and suddenly noticed that the wall that I was facing became stuck in my vision. No matter which way I turned my head, where I went or if I closed my eyes. I could only see that wall.
Somehow my eyes had pried open while still dreaming and so I was getting the visual input from the ceiling and was interpreting it as the wall in that room of my dream.
Freaking the fuck out. I was Crawling from room to room trying to get my vision back but no matter what I did all I could see was that damn wall. Asked my brother if there was something wrong with my eyes. He said that they "looked a little orange". Started flipping out wondering why my eyes were that colour, why couldn't I just be blind in the traditional sense or have some awesome scenery imprinted onto my vision rather than that bland wall (ceiling). How could I learn to live like this..
At that point someone had walked down the corridor past my open bedroom door which was caught in my peripheral vision. That instantly woke me up & I realised that I had just been dreaming with my eyes open.
What have been some of your most weirdest dreams or dreaming related experiences?

Reminds me of one time In dream: mushrooms grew out of my carpet in a matter of a few seconds, huge fruits the size of full grown poppies. Ate them and start tripping, they made me go blind and Instead of a normal trip - it was just a never ending come up/ peak. As in, it kept on rising and rising / intensifying. Felt like an ecstatic seizure.

I get weird dreams quite a lot.
I would say the scariest ones were where I experienced sleep paralysis.
This one time this little demon child was standing in my room and ran up to the side of my bed just staring at me. It said something too, but I can't remember.
Sometimes there will just be this shadow creature embracing me.

I hate the shadow creatures, they must be something real, cause everyone says the same things about them.

Strange. When you mentioned sleep paralysis I remembered how my mum had told me about her experience with it when she was younger. She also felt another presence in the room. Seems to be a common aspect of it..

Not me.. I should probably cut back on the weed to be honest. Hardly ever dream or at least remember them when I go to sleep stoned.
Last year on holiday when I had no choice in the matter I had REM rebound so bad I was having extremely lucid and immersive dreams every night for about three weeks straight. Was always waking up exhausted because of how active they were. Still remember a few of them.

Sleep Paralysis could be due to stress. I personally don't ascribe meaning to my dreams since it feels like it would just be a rabbit hole not truly worth the time, imo.

I'm not a regular weed smoker at the moment. When I was smoking almost everyday for like a year or two I did have more vivid ones for sure.
I think the weirdest one recently was where I ran away from the cops on a tiny skateboard. I was balancing on it doing a single handstand. I had to hand in a project that was due for my work. When it was done, a coworker in the dream said "The Boss is impressed, good job"...

Ok I got one more before I hit the sack..
Around that time I was holiday. I remember that one of my dreams finished where I was standing in a grass field with my tour group & I was watching a plane in the sky quickly dropping altitude. It did some kind of flipping manoeuvre. Where I realised that it was in fact falling from the sky. So we braced for the impact. Which was rather violent, sending a shockwave and cloud of debris in all directions. When that wall of debris reached us, I woke up.
At the time I had a flight to catch the following day.

That is a strange dream! Like an AR dream
Ive had lots of strange dream experiences before but this one is one of my favorites:
I had a dream i was outside in a grassy, roling hill area similar to places in England. It was about dusk i remember. As i was walking around this grassy hill area, i found a patch of large mushrooms. They looked like brown Portabellos. Next time i know, i lay down on the ground and lay right next to the mushrooms. Right when this happens, i fall into a deep, calm, tranquil, peaceful sleep. I was deep-sleeping but aware that i was in a dream. I actually fell asleep inside a dream! After this, i woke up in the dream and continued to explore around the grassy hills.
Its a dream I'll never forget.

Used to have dreams of being totally naked at school, and forgetting about tests. Really shook me those ones.
The other night I dreamt of going into a slipper store to buy slippers. That one I must confess I searched online for a possible "meaning". It was just so random to me. Apparently if I bought boat-shaped ones, which I actually looked at and was like "Wtf? No.", it would've meant bad luck. But since I bought regular ones it means I'm going to buy new property. We'll see...

I would rather say the shadow creatures are a common effect of sleep paralysis. Perhaps due to the feeling of being paralysed at the same time of being in a semi-dream state, our brains tend to move to something ominous happening.
It is scientifically explained elsewhere, much better than I can atm.
If you want to read into it:
https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/295039#what_is_sleep_paralysis
I also hope they're not real personally, because it freaks me out!..

snap. I used to have dreams of being totally naked when I was at primary school. I would go in, walk into the cloakroom with all the other kids but then take all my clothes off instead of just my coat. I would only realise when the door slammed shut, locked, behind me. Rest of the dream would be me hiding at school.....

for about 10 years after I graduated highschool, I would have a common dream where I was skipping too many classes and I was going to fail
on my first long fast I remember having a dream where I broke it, I got a icecream drum stick outta the freezer and ate it in my living room, then I saw a bag of plain chips on the couch that had the siracha cock on the bag and I ate them, then I was extremely dissapointed that I broke my fast, but then I woke up

Morning peeps. Had a dream last night where I was at a house party with some old high school associates, cracking wise guy jokes and getting some laughs. Was actually kind of fun though I don't remember much else..

@remake & noodles-uk Damn I always thought that being naked at school dream was just an overused cliché. Never experienced that one myself. Must be a lot more common than I thought..
@gopher Cool! Don't think I've ever had a reoccurring dream.. I knew someone with PTSD who had the same reoccurring nightmare for years. It must be the brain having a difficult time trying to reconcile something.

I really want to get into dream work. I think dreams can help us become aware of our distorted thinking and behaviour the same way psychedelics can. Philosopherr has posted some interesting stuff on this somewhere

I'll regularly dream with my eyes partially open. My sleep cycles are pretty fucked and I've had sleep problems since childhood. I'll sleep 4 hours straight then be lucid dreaming or fading into sleep and immediately wake back up. The feeling is very hard to describe. Feels like a trip. My dreams are almost always the same. Big delapidated house in the woods with a spring originating in the basement from a giant fractured boulder. The spring then flows up the walls into the living room dividing the house in 2 areas. There's always daylight out but I never see the sun. The house is a very uncomfortable place with an irrational design and all the rooms tend to lead to other subdreams sometimes my work sometimes fishing sometimes an unknown city is seen from a distance at the edge of the forest . Often enough the fear of being in the house is so intense I'll wake up gradually but violently moaning or groaning struggling to get out. Usually wake up teary eyed. I hate that fucking house.

I have but just online dream dictionaries which seem pretty vague. Thought about talking to a professional because it's been going on for a good 5 years or so. Almost every night I spend some sort of time in the house or at the edge of the forest looking at the city. The general emotion involved is the same regardless though. The waking up in panic is pretty rare. Maybe several times a year at most.

Check this out! From www.dreammoods.com | House (Explaination)
Quote:
House
To see a house in your dream represents your own soul and self. Specific rooms in the house indicate a specific aspect of your psyche. In general, the attic represents your intellect, the basement represents the subconscious, etc. If the house is empty, then it indicates feelings of insecurity. If the house is shifting, then it suggests that you are going through some personal changes and changing your belief system. To dream that a house has no walls represents a lack of privacy. You feel that everyone is looking over your shoulder or up in your business.
To see an abandoned house in your dream implies that you have left behind your past. You are ready to move forward toward the future.
To dream that you are cleaning your house signifies your need to clear out your thoughts and get rid of old ways. You are seeking self-improvement.
If you live with others in your waking life, but dream that you are living alone suggests that you need to take new steps toward independence. You need to accept responsibilities and be more self-reliant.
To see an old, run-down house in your dream represents your old beliefs, attitudes and how you used to think or feel. A situation in your current life may be bringing about those same old attitudes and feelings. Alternatively, the old house may symbolize your need to update you mode of thinking. If you see messy and/or dilapidated houses in your dream, then it implies that an aspect of your own life is in chaos. You may be suffering from some emotional or psychological clutter. You need to release these feelings in order to regain control. To dream that your house is damaged indicates your waking concerns about the condition of your house.
To dream of a house that looks beautiful from the outside and/or downstairs, but the upstairs is falling apart implies that you are too concerned with outward appearances that your mental and emotional health is being neglected.
Dreaming that a house falls down a level without collapsing suggests that you are suppressing your feelings or thoughts. You may be trying to shut out loved ones.
To dream that you are inside a stranger's house indicates that there is something that you have yet to discover about yourself. It may mean that there are repressed memories, fears or emotions that you are not confronting.
To dream that you are building a house implies that you need to work on some aspect of yourself and better your mind or body. Alternatively, the dream is also representative of your maturing mindset.
To see a new house in your dream indicates that you are entering into a new phase or new area in your life. You are becoming more emotionally mature. If you are locked out of the house, then it represents rejection and insecurity. You feel you are being left behind.
To dream that your house is broken into suggests that you are feeling violated. It may refer to a particular relationship or current situation in your life. Alternatively, it indicates that some subconscious material is attempting to make itself known. There are some aspects of yourself that you have denied.
To dream of a haunted house signifies unfinished emotional business, related to your childhood family, dead relatives, or repressed memories and feelings.
Dreaming that you are in the house of someone who has passed away indicates that you have yet to come to terms with their death. Perhaps you feel there was something that could've been done. The dream also indicates that you are trying to hold onto the memories you had with her or him.
To dre am that a house has disappeared indicates that you are not feeling grounded. You feel uprooted by a particular circumstance or relationship in your life.
To dream that water is rising up in your house suggests that you are becoming overwhelmed by your emotions. To see houses under water implies that you are very comfortable with your own emotions. Alternatively, the dream may be a reflection of your housing situation. Perhaps you are "underwater" in your mortgage. If you dream that there is water damage inside your house, then it stands for an emotional breakdown.
If you have a dream that your house is sinking into the ground, then it represents feelings of insecurity.
To dream that a house has legs and is walking or chasing you points to dissatisfaction with your current waking life. You are expressing a desire to start new some place else.
Dreaming that the house is flying or floating means that you do not feel grounded. Perhaps you need to do some soul searching. It may also point to your lofty aspirations. If you dream that you are floating away on a piece of the house that has broken off, then it means that you are feeling conflicted by your goals and between making others happy or making yourself happy.

Pretty fucking crazy right? It mentions both the rising water and the dilapidated aspect.
Im gonna look up boulders now....
Quote:
Boulder
To see a boulder in your dream symbolizes a major obstacle and problem in some component of your life.
http://m.dreammoods.com/site/dreammoods/v2?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dreammoods.com%2Fdreamdictionary%2Fb4.htm#2907
So the Boulder represents a major problem in your life, the rising water is your emotions "seeping out" because of that major problem in your life and the House is your Soul/Life itself.

What's really wild is I'm the one who split the Boulder. It was with a piece of rebar or junk iron. I just remember it was some primitive object laying around and I instinctively struck the Boulder with it. It was one of the first things I did when I started visiting this house. The water has been flowing ever since.
Dude I didn't find anything this descriptive when I Googled these things. What an awesome resource thanks a lot!

Thats crazy! U stuck the rebar in the boulder yourself? Whoa
Thanks man, Ive been checking out DreamMoods off and on for about half a year. Some of the descriptions are just so spot on.
Couldnt find rebar, but did find "Fractal". It seems to line up well with LSD fractals which is really interesting to me:

Quote:
Fractal
To see a fractal in your dream signifies introspection and deep thought. There is some force trying to draw you in toward your subconscious. Alternatively, a fractal symbolizes your creative power and positive energy. Consider the color and shapes. Also consider what sort of emotions the image invokes for you.

No I'm joking.
I had a dream as a little kid where I was a very fat adult sticking syringes of drugs in my ass and talking with God very amically while a Nkondi was standing in the room. I woke up crying "No! I don't want to put syringes in my ass!"
Flash forward almost 40 years later.
I was sitting in the room, having taken some syringes of MXE up the ass, Nkondi in the room, talkling with God, and the EXACT MOMENT of that dream happened.
I was like: "I knew all my life that I dreamt this! You have turned a temporal swiss cheese of my life!"
"In the universe, time flows in both directions and your brain is capable of this too. Enjoy yet another Easter Egg and know that I have PLANS for you!"

Thats so wild! Dreams are like time-travel.
I once had this dream as a young kid that i will never forget. I was probably 5 or 6 years old at the time. I had this dream in my childhood house where i grew up. My Dad, my Mom and my older half brother all lived in this two-story house. I loved that house, it was my first home. My dream involved me climbing up on the railing of the patio in the back of the house, which was 2 stories high off the ground. I jumped off the railing toward the ground and as i started falling, i felt a parachute open up behind me. I floated down safely and then i woke up shortly after floating in the air for a few seconds. It was just a short but powerful dream that I never forgot and always windered what it meant...
Well on DreamMoods.com, i may have found a simple answer: http://m.dreammoods.com/site/dreammoods/p2-1?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dreammoods.com%2Fdreamdictionary%2Fp.htm#2571
Quote:
Parachute
To dream that you are in a parachute represents a protective force over you. You have a sense of security. Alternatively, the dream implies that it is time to bail out of a situation or abandon an old idea or habit.
To dream that you have difficulties with a parachute or that the parachute does not open suggests that you are let down by someone you relied on and trusted. You feel abandoned.
So i believe the first explaination is the most accurate one. I was probably feeling secure with the fact that i had my Mom, my Dad, and my older half-brother living with me. Several years later, my Dad and Mom got a divorce and that was a really hard time for me as i was so young and didnt understand what was happening....also my half-brother moved to Nevada and i hardly ever saw him again.
The other explaination is interesting too, about wanting to "bail out" of the situation. Was the dream a foreshadowing of the future as i wanted to "bail out" of the family home i was in due to the future event of my family splitting up? Or the other explaination is "abandoning an old idea". Could that be a reference to reincarination and me "bailing" on the memories of my previous life so i could start the memories of the current one?
So many possibilities, but i believe the feeling of security was the most telling of my life at the time.

Awesome thread everyone's got such interesting dreams. And that dreammood seems to be massively insightful. Or at least well catalogued.

Indeed. I love reading peoples dreams mixed with some comparsion to meanings listed on sites like DreamMoods. It is most fascinating and offers a window into the psyche of the Human Mind

Noodles-UK, ever heard of Edgar Cayce, the Sleeping Prophet?
Never herd of the Sleeping Prophet but will check it out.
I used to know a therapist who worked a lot with dreams when I was younger. She always used to advise against using dream interpretation dictionaries or the like. Used to say each dream is personal and objects will usually mean completely different things to different people, the dream always needs to be worked by the dreamer....

Yeah mine are more simple. Think I am tapping into national consciousness. Every dream I have had the last 4 nights 3 have been about the NFL and one about the NBA last night.
Like I watching then playing then watching the games. It is getting annoying. I usually enjoy my dreams. Some are better then movies I watch. Tired of this shit.
Strange as well, but what dreams aren't strange, so many dreams of hanging out with friends from over 15 years ago and always being in school and never being able to find out my schedule and where to go. Maybe the stress of being in so many when growing up.
Dreams are like trying to hold liquid. They always fluctuate and I get the people in them is all one's perceptive on them but their is something I can't define with it as one goes through life. Think that is why I find dreams so interesting.
Especially once in a great while I will have a lucid dream and am consciously aware and it is like holy shit, I can do whatever I want in this dream world but it is rare. I guess some people practice it and can do it often but never worked for me.
Main thing is I never have nightmares anymore and when it starts delving into that territory is easy to get out of. I had endless ones growing up and in my teens. So educated guess is that I am progressing in life as almost all are positive and many just mundane.
1/3rd of out life, pay attention to them, what one can remember if one so chooses. Their is so much hidden subconsciously within. Trying to make sense of the majority of it, is difficult in my experience.

Good morning how's everyone? Its still dark outside but I don't think I'll be able to go back to sleep after tonight's dream...
For the most part it wasn't very interesting. Catching up with a few people I haven't seen in a while from past friendships and relationships. We drank, loitered, talked and went shopping. At one stage getting ice-cream together?
Towards the end of this dream. I was in the passenger side of a car, which was driving down an area that was familiar as I had been there previously within the same dream, but otherwise don't recognize now that I'm awake. The driver seemed familiar to me though I couldn't identify who it was. He was talking about how he wanted to get some drugs and go party and mentioned that he needed to be careful as his licence was currently suspended and there was an increased police presence due to the Lockdown restrictions. I attempted to ask why his licence was suspended but noticed that there was a cop car driving in front of him as he was taking a right turn without using his indicator. So instead told him to use the indicator and be more careful as that could see him get pulled over. He apologised and stated that he as a little nervous, while turning into a separate side road which was parallel to the main road. I assumed to avoid the police car driving in front of him. As he was turning left back onto another main road. I attempted to ask again why his licence had been suspended. Just as I was about to ask I noticed he was accelerating fast, he diagonally cut through some idle traffic & swerved onto a sidewalk, then nature strip (at very high speed still) either me or him exclaimed "OH FUCK!" Then the car smashed into a short concrete wall with a large drop into a concrete car park below, on the other side. I flew through the windscreen and over the wall. At that point everything muffled and dimmed. Was certain that I wasn't going to survive. And after a split second or so of tumbling I resigned myself to death, which was painless and peaceful but very sad all the same. From the guy making the left turn to the point of death was just a matter of seconds... Once terminated I jolted awake at 5:00AM.
So glad that wasn't really the end of me.

Its 7 now and the sun is beginning to rise.

Redditt.
Always keep dreaming I am in High School or College and can never find my way to my classroom or remember my locker. Then old friends are there or family and it is always, vacation. I want to see my grades and if I turned in the papers.
Why this with so much time behind it? And then I am playing in football or basketball like playing in life and I never do well in these games.
But I see all my old friends. I really don't have nightmares anymore. Guess I am living a better life now then the nightmare days of sleep parlysis and searching the occult and feeling lifted out of my body by not friendly beings looking down at my own body.
Am serious. Never have I felt a fear like that. At the same time, it passed for me. Has to do with a lot of not doing occult practices and blood magik, cutting myself when I was younger.
I like not having that anymore. They are so small. The demons. I painted a blood mask on me once from cutting long time ago. Sat in a bathtub at night with all the lights off, not cutting wrists, just shoulders before and the symbols.
Just to see if I could see anything. I didn't. But shit. If you give your will over to that, be advised, you will regret it especially in dreams.
When it got to be to much, it took a priesthood blessing, yes, I am Mormon but live spiritual law and not garbage, to get rid of them as I conjured them. They are so small. But shit can they take hold of one's dreams. I prefer the ones I have now even if they are boring at times.
At least I never fear going to sleep.
