Drying mushrooms with fan in humidity

Anyoen have any experience with only using a fan in a probably 50% humidity environment? I am currently drying some finds in an outdoor building that the door gets left open sometimes and it has been pretty wet here in GA. The door is closed now but I am a little worried.

Well how long has it been and how dry are they already? The problem is always getting from bendy dry (look fully dried) to cracker dry. This is best achieved, without a dehydrator at least or maintaned in long term storage with white rice in a closed container like a jar or a sealed plastix box. An switch and bake the rice to dry it every once in a while. But yeah, except that people are really sensitive about this here, and say they lose potency as long as the'yre wet I honestly found that the method you describe is entirely possible. They wont go bad in those 3 days or what that can take, either. But the last step is important, esp for long term storage otherwise molds can develop and you dont wanna get sick either? Even though actually most molds arent dangerous except black mold maybe and it just tastes a bit like earth when its trich at least but yeah make sure, its disgusting anyway otherwise.

They are at my dads property drying. I am checking my other "dried" mushrooms and they dont seem exactly cracker dry now that I am checking them all. THese where dried the same way. Fuck I probably need to go get them and dry them with a space heater and a fan like I used to do.

Or the rice method. The first round you dont need to prebake the rice etiher just use it straight from the pack in a large jar or tote (airthight). Try it before you try to get the space heater Its deceptively easy
