Converting Grain Jar Lids for Liquid Culture

Hello, I had a question about the practicality of converting jars intended for grain to be remade into liquid culture jars. I have attached pictures of some of the lids in question. The original design of the kids was what I imagine to be common grain jars using Synthetic Filter Disks placed between the lid ring and lid itself. I was intending to cover any extra unnecessary GE holes with RVT silicone. I would think this is fine but am I running into weird complication down the line? I’ve been considering buying a whole bunch of new jars to start fresh with.

You can just buy the lids...They are right there next to the jars. Like $3 for 12.
The cool kids around here have a big boner for pouring their LCs straight out of 500ml Media Bottles (ebay) with unmodified lids. They just pc a little loose and tighten after cool down apparently.
If you wanted to make some of the greatest LC lids for jars to syringe use I can help you though...

I really like those designs you posted pics of, and thank you for info on price, I was under the assumption they were costly so I didn’t bother looking.

Upon searching amazon I can only find options for 12 lids for $25-45. I’ll check out an actual mycology site.

I now realize what you meant earlier lol, I somehow read it as being lids made for LC at $3 for 12. But yeah now that I realize I still think it's a good idea.
