Mold with pics.

So here’s a picture of my bulk. It’s been in fruiting conditions about a week now and I finally have verified pinning. I noticed the pins just 2 nights ago but this is my first grow and I wasn’t sure, but I have verified pin growth as of today because they have grown in size and elongated noticeably even since The last time I misted about 5 hrs ago.
I also noticed this green mold on the darker end of the bulk. it’s got a dark olive green color. I broke a chuck off to examine it and it seems to only be on the top as a very thin layer. This pic is a stratified view of the substrate. The mold is a thin layer but mostly mycelium. It appears that at least in this spot the mold or mildew looking layer hasn’t penetrated the mycelium. I’m pretty sure it was mostly colonized. Does that mean the mycelium will protect itself?
It’s pinning now, so can I get fruits with mold? Are they usable or spoiled? I assume if I tried removing the layer that I could spread mold spores, or destroy primordia that might fruit. Is there anything to do?

That’s an interesting question you ask right off the bat because I used popcorn initially and then for the bulk I used a very random mix. I didn’t know you could just use coir; so I put coir, backyard compost heap, potting soil, and a little gypsum in the mix. I used a cooler with boiling water for pasteurization, then layered it with the popcorn.
Is it common for certain substrates to cause bruising without any mechanical action? I guess it could be mechanically caused bruising due to moving the tin. It can get slightly squished if your not careful. That would be a load off my mind.

Oh yeah I mixed some rice hulls in with it and layered a little on top for harvesting.

I just had a mold issue. This does not look like mold to me.
