Found in Northeast (CT) front lawn, grass, dead grass
All these mushrooms were found in a 30-yard x 30-yard area of moved lawn Heavy rain for a few hours the previous few days Temp has been high mid 80's low mid-60s' the area was southern exposure - lots of sun but surrounded by trees so the sun is only direct for 2-3 hours a day
I suspect these are some type of liberty cap
I've watched 5-6 videos on youtube they appeared EXACTLY as the videos demonstrated They were small and somewhat hidden but once you found a few they were fairly easy to spot Very small very delicate pull out of the ground very easily I was surprised how may I found in a short period of time

Thank you

You’ve got a mixed collection of panaeolina foenisecii and Panaeolus cinctulus. Print them.
Black=good, brown=bad

Very possible that all three types could be mixed in that collection. My bad OP, definitely seperate & print them all.

Hi friends... Overviews... sorry for the long pause before replying...
So I've followed the suggestion of "printing" here is the link to my attempt. Id give me a C- grade but understand I'm completely a new user, but did some reading beforehand
https://app.box.com/s/1r81bpx9josag4sh4gjnczoy0ijfjl9v
Overview I sorted through all the mushrooms and identified 3 groups 1 - larger flattish cap - looks like the cover of Stammetts book :-) 2 - smaller - similar-looking but dark brown in color 3 - much smaller and roundish cap
I've laid these on paper plates with the corresponding number tried to get a print on aluminum for and the paper plate itself You can see the results are better than nothing but limited Actually - I'm not sure what the spore printing was to accomplish? I'm sure some type of identification but I'm sure that's only with a perfect print :-)
Id attribute this to the specimen sitting around too long. Id get better results with a fresh specimen
Any comments or feedback are welcome
I think these really look like liberty caps... and I was very excited... I thought too good to be true. I realised its quite something to accurately identifying these But one test failed from the beginning was they did not bruise blue...
Thanks to the folks who've shown interest and helping a new guy
Thanks
