Your cake looks slightly bacterial..

Trim your foil a bit more, so your cake makes a perfect fit

I had a question about that, I could tell that it was bacterial but I couldnt find like an answer on what to do. Does bacteria=toss it out? Also ok ill trim it back!!

Let them finish growing then eat them. It's not going to hurt you.

That's just how mycology is. The key to success is to always do extra. If your goal is to have 12 jars do 24 instead.

Bacteria is common in brf cakes to a certain extent. It all depends on how much bacteria is really in there. It's nearly impossible to have 0 bacteria in a brf cake inoculated from a spore syringe. But, the pf tek still works great.

Other fungi contams are often more detrimental, but bacteria can also destroy a grow. The more bacterial your mycelium is, the more it's trying to fight off the bacteria as well as compete for limited nutrients. This can do very little to your yield/health of your fruits, it can significantly reduce it, or it could completely take over the mycelium and leave you with a slimey piece of garbage that will never give you fruits. It all depends how bacterial it is.

With that being said, if you got fruits you got fruits. It's noticeably bacterial, but it could be worse.

Bacteria is more a concern of the health of your mycelium which will play a big role in how good your mushroom yield is. But, if you get fruits, they're safe to eat long as the mushrooms themselves don't show any obvious signs.

You're correct in thinking that dehydrating will kill off bacteria. Not the heat, that's only around 100F which bacteria love. But it makes your mushrooms inhabitable by bacteria for the most part because there's no water for them to use for survival. If course this isn't 100% of the bacteria, but it's enough to erase it as a concern.
