Quick question: benefits of different agar recipies

I cant seem to find a conclusive answer to this? What are the benefits of the different recipes? I like to KSS, so it seems to me most of the recipes are adding unnecessary materials and time to the procedure. Bless me with your knowledge

5 gr of agar 5 gr of malt extract 250ml of clean water
1Liter of clean water 20 gr barley malt extract 20 gram agar 2 gram nutricional yeast
22 g agar 12 g light malt extract 1 g yeast extract 1/4 tsp organic grain flour (rotate among oats, cornmeal, amaranth, rice, millet, rye or any other starch or sugar you can think of) 5 g hardwood sawdust or wood fuel pellets 1 L tap water 8 mL 3% hydrogen peroxide (optional, added after sterilization & cooling; see below.) ( i got this one out of a book but its more complicated than the others so i see your point, what is the policy about posting refrences sites and other links im new to this site

KSS or KISS = keep it simple (stupid) lol. I just cant seem to figure out what the advantages are, if any, over a simple recipe of MEA?

A lot of it is just what is easiest to get around your area, what works best for you, and what you have experience with. For just starting out, a simple LME agar recipe is gonna be perfectly fine. Or you could try a PDA recipe. Whatever you can get your hands on easiest and you think you feel the most comfortable with. After you get more experience, you may play around with other recipes and see if you like others more or less than the one you're using currently.

I'd just recommend a LME and agar powder recipe. KISS. That third recipe seems way to complicated for what we need. Also, the hydrogen peroxide will hurt more than help and cubensis varieties dont need a wood source like saw dust.
I just run a recipe of: 500 mL water 10 g agar agar powder 8 g LME powder
I use distilled water cause my tap water is extremely hard (mineral rich) but if you have normal tap water it will be fine. If you dont wanna use LME look up a PDA (potato dextrose agar) recipe.
Once you prep grains in the future, save your strained off water from your grains. Grain water agar is my favorite.

okay thank you for the help
i would like to go 50% bird seed 50% pop corn for my spawn and i would like to follow up with a substrate of straw pallets maybe mixed with some other stuff can you recommend me some?
and how can i check if my local tap water is rich in minerals? and how to demineralise it if so? or is it more rendable to just buy the distilled water

Just buy distilled if you have concerns about mineral content. BTW most books are outdated.

Popcorn can work. It's not a preferred grain for many though.
There's no reason to use straw or wood substrates for normal cubes. A straight coir substrate is what you want. Can also mix some verm in there if you want.

I get better growth on dog food agar and malt dextrose agar than just malt or dextrose. More variety of nutrition makes for better agar imo. The other thing is to switch nutrients every 2 transfers or so if you're cleaning or isolating on agar. I keep a few stacks of DFA and a few stacks of MDA and just switch back and forth with every transfer. Also, I found these little PP5 containers on amazon that I use over and over again, PC no problems. 20 cents a piece. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0795CHXPR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I love popcorn spawn cause the mycelium breaks apart easily and it looks cool. Wouldn't use it for substrate.

I like to KISS + lazy and the results are damn good with just agar DME and water. I add a couple drops of blue food coloring to give some contrast
