Two years of microdosing * 2
    #26801321 - 07/03/20 11:36 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

An update to edit out some nonsense.

After two years, microdosing still provides relief from daily stressors. Some temporary headache relief as well as some slight muscle relaxation, especially in my shoulders.

Effects are very subtle yet noticeable. ~120mg take twice daily provides near full day relief.

Homegrown psilocybin cubensis are ground in a mortar and pestle to homogonize. Doses are weighed out individually each day, taken in 00 capsules with water and some food.

A simple log of time, date and amount has been kept.

This is something I should experiment with, the effects you describe sound well worth trying ~

does your log include every day or do you show a skipping of one or two days. the dose size looks low enough for daily use.

Great write up dude! May have to try this as well. Do you notice any pupil dilation with micro doses? Or other give aways that you have mush in your system?

Shows every day. I missed day 92 and 103 so those two days are blank. Only protocol is for those doses at work, weekends are free to dose whenever.

No noticeable pupil dilation, though eyes do glass over. I consume cannabis as well, so . No one would know otherwise.

People may be thrown off by a sudden increase in energy or outgoing tendencies, which may be abnormal.

Many people I work with are aware of my microdosing so I feel very comfortable being my self around nearly everyone at work.

Would you say that microdosing has improved your quality of work, or is it more that it has improved your relationship or experience while working?

I am assuming you would consider it improvement since you sound positive about it.

Excellent post, something I've been planning to start doing. :snoopyes:

How long does it take you to make up the capsules, BTW?  Is it just stuff and go or do you weigh them or what?

I've been doing this as well for depression. I haven't been diagnosed, but I also haven't been to doctor since Bush was in office. Pretty sure bipolar. Have been using psychs for 15+ years. When I was younger I would usually take large doses of LSD, and the effects on my brain would usually last a month. Its like hitting CONTROL ALT DELETE on my brain. Rewires and clears the fog. Im one of those people that takes psychedelics to feel normal. I also have a natural high tolerance. As I'm older now I don't like to trip out as much. And LSD and DMT are usually only a few times a year occasion.

Mushrooms on the other hand. I have capsules in 100mg, 200 mg, and 300mg weights. I took a 2 month break and started falling into a depressive cycle. Feels like my brain is broken. Sleep is all fucked up. Took a 300mg before bed. Woke up bright and early feeling refreshed and motivated. It works that quick. I try not to take breaks anymore. I can usually skip  a day and be fine, but I have an unlimited supply, so theres no reason to skip a dose.

Typical day is 300mg when I wake up. 300 mg mid day, then another 300 before bed. If I have some work to get done in the evening, or just feel like getting an extra boost, I'll dose additional 300mg every 2 hours or so at night. Usually spreading a gram out over the course of the night.

Now if I'm in full rage mode at festival or something, my doses are by the gram every 2 hours or so. And I stack them with whatever else I feel like taking out of my drug box.

Psilocybin is an amazing medicine.

All of the above. Awareness increases allowing for more information to be gathered, coupled with increased cognitive abilities, tasks are preformed with little resistances. Interactions with others are very fluent and free flowing, improving overall moral, confidence and sense of community.

:solidnod:

Psilocybin is proving to be miraculous!

I too, don't see many reasons to take breaks when supplies are plentiful.

Nice to see an other getting benefits as well.

Does that worry you? I only ask because if that happened to me I'd be concerned that I might have developed some sort of psychological dependence. Course there are worse, more expensive things with horrible side effects that you could be dependent on so you're ahead either way.

I plan to microdose when I start growing. Primarily for some leftover anxiety related issues I still struggle with, as well as a chronic fatigue condition which I'm hoping it might help with. Not to mention all the 'spiritual' and emotional healing effects that can come with psilocybin use. I've been fascinated ever since a university psychology lecture on psychoactive substances.

No. I don't have a psychological dependence. I've done a lot of drugs over the years, and I know the signs of physical and psychological dependence. Mushrooms aren't like that. I treat them like I treat the insulin I take everyday. As a medicine that helps regulate my broken organs that I inherited from shitty genetics.

In my experience, dependence happens after taking drugs for a long enough time that alter your pleasure reward system. I don't take enough to feel high at all. Although you could say that I feel high in the regards that my brain functions normally and don't suffer from debilitating mood changes.

:raisemyglass:

I believe I have caused some brain damages to my self. For years, I would thrash my head to and fro whilst shaking excess water from my hair after showering. I would do this out of habit, even when I would get a hair cut and there was no need, I would still find myself sometimes throwing my head back and forth and would catch myself and say, there's no need for this because my hair is not long enough. I recall feeling dizziness afterwards and remember having to regain balance after standing upright again.

Microdoses aid me my executive decision making processes. When I am on a microdose I can commit to choices and avoid over analysis of situations. Having a softened ego, I don't get hung up on little details and am able to better see things from multiple perspectives in a short amount of time and make what I feel to be better choices.

Physically I would get sharp pains in my skull, sometimes refered to as ice pick headaches. Pain is extremely sharp and concentrated and would come out of nowhere. While lasting a short amount of time, at most six or seven seconds, they were painful enough where I had to stop everything I had going on and focus on how long it was lasting. They were never any longer than ten seconds or so, but still very painful and unpredictable. I rarely get these, or any sorts of head pains anymore. They stopped after I first learned to grow and began eating my own fruits. Looking back I can now make that connection and remember what sorts of headaches I was experiencing.

It's been over 18 months since I've had a proper trip, where I've taken more than three grams and gone into an experience. Extended microdosing has provided emotional stability and an overall positive outlook on life, day to day. I enjoy being able to relax into moments and stress less over insignificant events that hold little value and maintain focus on larger goals in mind.

I've always been a skinny guy, never weighing over 135lbs and currently sit at around 115-120lbs at 5'10". I used to eat a lot of junk food and had issues with constipation and hemroids. I went through a pretty radical diet shift, from frozen pizzas and quick bake foods to a liquid diet of a meal replacement, vegan protein shake, for about three months. When I began eating solid foods again, I felt my body craving fresh, raw foods, so that's what I ate. I stayed away from most meats and ate lots of fresh salads with kale, spinach, romane lettuce. Lots of nuts and seeds and more healthy choice foods. I kept up this vegetarian/vegan diet for several months until one day, picking up my dad at a hospital, I blacked out and went down in the hospital. My body felt depleted and decided to start eating more meats.

I listened to JRE a lot and came onto keto type diets and began looking at my own carbohydrate intake. I had let my diet slip and was allowing my self to eat out more often and felt my digestive system starting to give me issues. I would wake up and feel like there was a vacuum sucking at my belly.

So, as far as this microdosing, my diet has been been very limited. After taking some time off and traveling with my dad, I have reintegrated back into a life and have established a steady job. I had to figure out a lunch to take every day, as I didn't want to resort to fast foods or prepackaged microwave junk, so I made a choice.

Hamburger and steamed broccoli. I make two patties and put one in a box for lunch the following day. A steam basket of broccoli gets split and I eat five or six cherry tomatoes for dinner. I also eat a lot of dark chocolate. A. Lot. I have eaten as much as ten grams of dark chocolate chunks used for baking in a single night. Though, once I started eating vitamin C, I don't crave chocolate as much here lately.

Also, I drink about ten ounces of buttered coffee every morning with a tablespoon of coconut oil.

I used to suffer from ice pick headaches as well. There pretty rare. I believe your the first person I've heard mention them. I started getting them when I was about 13. They started when I started smoking weed. I don't know if that was just a coincidence, because I've smoked everyday for almost 20 years and never really found any other connection. I haven't had a headache like that in almost 12 years. I used to suffer from debilitating migraines when I was super young. I haven't had one of those in almost 20 years either.

Another thing you bring up is keto. That has been the one other thing that has helped my brain. If I've been eating a SAD for awhile, it perpetuates the depression. I can tell when my body finally gets back into ketosis. It's like something switches in my brain. Its totally euphoric. I then feel like I can function again.

So a combo of keto and microdosing is what I use to regulate myself. It also helps regulate my blood sugar which is important. Not gonna lie though, I miss a big ol plate of pasta from time to time.

Well, you could write a book, write a song, make a movie, start a business, preach the gospel, plant a garden, marry twins, take over the world...all sorts of things other than smoke a bowl. The ability to be comfortable and pain-free opens up new possibilities, but if one only uses those possibilities to smoke a bowl with themselves, that's not being a good citizen. You should have more purpose than that, imo.

I've had those types of icepick headaches as you call them. Mad pain that just has to be suffered through. I always just thought it came from sustained hits to the head (i used to hit myself esp on the head in the past, like a fool)

never could come up with a truly satisfying reason for those sharp pains. they just come super irregularly so impossible to predict and that wouldnt even matter since the pain is the stop / drop everything kind that just immobilizes you

i've been a daily toker for some time, recently moved to vaping. hm, never considered whether bud could be the culprit of those head pains

i'd say our eating habits are pretty similar minus the keto.

First we would fight. I always used to dream about a clone of myself I could scrap with, another vicious and unpredictable fiend of fisticuffs. Then, being a super freak, we would get down like that. While smoking bowls of course. Idk if it would be considered gay or not to fuck around with your own self..a dilemma for philosophers.

I’ve been microdosing for a couple months now. The first day I took some at work and I was surprised at how strong .25g was lol. It was a weird kind of day. I haven’t been on a consistent schedule though which I think I should do. I definitely like the feelings of energy and focus. I shoot better in my archery practice and get in stroke quickly playing pool. Maybe keeping a log will help with staying on a schedule.

I’ve generally been a lot happier and more hopeful for the future since I started. No negatives that I’ve seen so far.

I keep a log. Day number, date, dose amount, time.

No other information is recorded. Too messy.

Tolerance is a thing. While I get effects from each and every dose, I have them dialed in to where I am very comfortable with those effects, being able use and utilize increases in physical energy as well as cognitive abilities.

I am a fellow traveller.  Been micro dosing for several years.  Over the 18 months it's been a well packed '0' capsule every morning before a long walk.  I'm nearly 70 years old and walk 10-15 miles a day with a small but athletic dog.  The morning walk gives me a 1.5 to 2 hour flow state.  At this time of pandemic isolation I have been able to remain sane and fairly social at an outdoor distance of 6-10 feet.  The daily dosing has really helped me be more self observant.  I've become more mindful of what and how I eat, read, and think and that has helped me change for the better.  I understand that Albert Hoffman micro dosed lsd daily until he passed at a bit over 100 years.  I do believe that he was onto something.

Hello, I didn't read every post in this thread, so sorry if some of this is repetitive, but I wanted to contribute my experience with microdosing for only 3 weeks and the changes it has made in my life so far.

I suffer from severe anxiety and depression. It first started almost 20 years ago after I graduated high school. I started to pull away from all my friends and family and became a hermit and never left my house. I never thought of harming myself, but I have felt utterly hopeless. I also developed an eating addiction and have gained a lots of weight. I've tried every SSRI/SNRI, benzo, and even antipsychotic (my doctor says a small dose of antipsychotics help with obsessive thoughts). None of this truly helped. Well...the benzos certainly alleviate my anxiety, but I don't like taking them because I could easily see myself becoming addicted to them.

Anyway, about a year or so ago I decided to try microdosing with LSD. It helped, but for some reason it increased my anxiety and gave me bad headaches. It could have been bad LSD, who knows. Either way, after a couple weeks of trying it, I decided LSD wasn't for me and gave up on microdosing. I stupidly assumed that mushrooms would have the same effect.

Well at the beginning of this month, I decided to try the Paul Stamets protocol of .2grams of psilocybin, lions mane, and niacin 4 days on and three days off. At first it didn't seem to do a lot. But after about a week, I felt like it finally started to work.

Heres some things that have changed in my life after microdosing after about 3-4 weeks:

1) I finally saw some of my old friends. Some of them I haven't seen in 15+ years.
2) I feel less desire to consume large quantities of food.
3) I feel the desire to leave my house and do things rather then sit on the couch all day feeling depressed. It sucks I have to start to feel this way while theres a pandemic, but at least I have the desire to change.
4) I feel more in touch with my emotions, both bad and good. I have learned a lot about myself in the past few weeks.
5) My relationships are getting better. I actually talk to old friends, family members, co-workers. My love for my wife and son has grown so much. The SSRI's blunted my positive emotions, and mushrooms have started to bring those back.

I could go on and on. But so far, this has truly been life changing. In general I feel happy everyday and having a major desire to change my life. Like Terrance once said, "Take it easy dude, but take it!"

:solidnod:

Glad to see people benefiting from microdoses.

Day 672 today.

People have suggested to take breaks but I don't see any reason to when I continue to receive benefits each day.

I too, find myself lazy and microdosing makes me feel more obligation towards responsibilities.

My wife and I just completed 4 months. We dose every 4th day 120mg for her and 200mg for me. After 60 days my wife completely stopped taking Wellbutrin after being on it for nearly 20 years. More importantly, her anxiety and depression is greatly reduced and no longer impacts her daily life. The trick for us was to find a dose that didn't feel weird. The ideal dose to us feels like a strong cup of coffee with no pupil dilation or yawning.

Yeah dialling in the dose is tricky. Took me a while to find what worked better for me. I'm still fine tuneing it. But here's to mushrooms! They're are wonderful!

I have been keeping logs of everything since the early 1990's
in the 2000's I started using microsoft word cause I can include pics and format, and let it format like a web page (flowing to the window size).

I try to keep backups because occasionally windows crashes.

I have a fixed area at top, with necessities, then I have appointments, then
today's date, followed by any details, weblinks, feelings, problems, attempts to fix problems, who came over, who called etc.
if I do something interesting I can usually find a record of it.
initially I kept salvia logs separate from work logs, but now everything is in one place like a diary and appointment book.

I have attached an image that shows how I do my log, this section does not include micro-dosing information or any personal details but you can see how it can be adapted and become useful for a large variety of keeping one's story straight, and one's life in order.

To me, 300mg feels more strange than 3g. The mighty micro effect is real.

I totally agree.  For several years my normal dose was 120mg due to dwindling supply.  I prefer a bit more these days.  Less is more certainly can apply to the magic. :mushroom2:

I tend to increase about 30mg every 3 months on a 1 on and 3 off day cycle.

I love this. I would like to get my Mom on board, but that is a tough sell. They accept that it helps me. That's about as far as it goes.
