Fungi is God, how mycelium survives
    #26792503 - 06/29/20 03:45 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

This Is a long shot but this is how I think mycelium works to survive.
It grows out with near immortality and no predators it sculpts its own landscape with the ability to affect all plants and animals above meaning it can make changes to get more dead vegetation say... Itll support the surface to grow more plants/trees in turn getting what nutrients it specifically needs.

Its main goal is survival, wich is why we have such biodiversity all at the myceliums doing... We know fungi is far older than humans so it produced chemicals in precaution and advance of knowing other more intelligent (can be debated lol) beings would come to be like us humans.

Psilocybin was created by the mycelium to communicate with those higher beings, in order to control them like how they control their environment.
Showing us the beauty and importance of nature (so that we don't try to harm it maybe) and at the same time ensuring its own survival.
These chemicals connect you to nature and this is a survival tactic to gain your trust, like how a snake spits venom to ensure its survival.

That's an interesting hypothesis. Cubensis mycelium is farming us, in a way...but to say it developed that way seems unlikely.

It's my understanding that Psilocybes where forseen as beneficial for the velocity of truth, as they promote philosophy and introspection on the meaning of life the universe and everything. This serves God well, because where there are philosophers, people who seek to know him, which pleases him and hastens justice in times of rebellion, as it is this day upon the face of the earth. Therefore the role of Psilocybes is becoming increasingly more prominent.

not very scientific, is motivation for this line of thinking McKenna?

mycelium is old and interesting and effective in its age old niche, but I would not assume it thinks.

What you say seems legit, that could be it. There is some connection with psychedelics and 'god'.
Mr denis mckenna did have some inspiration, I get inspired by alot of these great forward thinkers

The face sums it up, but its good sometimes to get the crazy ideas out you guys can pick it apart for me :P

The original post is a bit too speculative for me too entertain seriously, but it did remind of me Michael Pollen's excellent book, The Botany of Desire. It's about co evolution, the ways that different species form mutually beneficial relationships which improve their overall fitness. Made me reconsider what is exerting its will over what. I think a lot of us assume that our advents in agriculture were exclusively self serving but it's interesting to think of how much the crops we learned to farm benefited in an evolutionary sense.

And all those other species that also adapted with our own shifting & adaptations to the times & places.

Exactly, you can make a strong case for how modern human civilization and the environmental destruction that comes from it created ideal conditions for different kinds of mushrooms. The fact that I can find psilocybe cyanescens growing on woodchips in front of a police station is pretty hilarious to me, especially considering that they likely wouldn't grow to the extent that they do if these urban areas had remained untouched by humans

One species helping to spread another species spores around and both deriving benefit from it,  it’s a good ex. of Mutualism.

The fungal spirits like moist dank and dense peat moss and cows and horse shit..

Why do they like these areas? Well you'll probably have to trip to find out..

An archaic intelligence.. just discovered between the doors.. The little crack in the wall..

Spiders and webs of the cosmos.. The theory of special relativity.. Which is from the viewpoint of the man..

And singular string theory.. each quantum loop has particles attached as bits and bytes..

The theory of general relativity which is the relation from one object to the next in a fundamental whole..

The agency of being adjacent.. or should I say that everything IS adjacent.

The shrooms of mushroom spores.. can somehow get a fix on the grey area in between the sewing .lines. The arachnophobia of the time.. the fear of little spiders or mites.. bugs or insects in general..

The relation of the whole and all its constituent parts.. 666..

The collective unconsciousness and collective consciousness in connection with the aether..

Which is the medium between analog and digital realities..

What if fungi was thrown here from ages and ages away and its like part of some higher being attempting colonisation and this being is travelling near speed of light and it threw the spores here not long ago relative to him but is slowed down by time dilation and will get here shortly after the fungi was thrown?

But wait! How did the fungi get here if not also by near light speed travel?

Then perhaps the fungi was thrown and then the species waited for it to thrive? Waited for it to create some sort of higher consciousness that it could study / befriend? Perhaps join the universal federation?

What if time is an irrelevant thing to this species. And "biding its time" is more of an exercise in scrolling through pages in a book than it is waiting for an event to take place? What if it wants us to experience growth the same way it did to see if we can answer some higher form of meaning that it itself cannot answer? Or perhaps it is lonely?

But wait! If we became equally intelligent wouldn't we just have the same exact information in our heads and may as well be one being? Wouldnt we have the technology to do that? Wouldnt we be so beyond normal bodily limitations that the realization that 2 self-created gods would be irrelevant and one of them would snap themselves out of existence?

an elephant wearing sunglasses is more likely true than aliens seeding earth with mushrooms so that we could later evolve and commune.
