First time grower - advice appreciated

Hi All!
I have tried my first attempt of growing mushrooms using PF tek. One of my jars has started pinning, however the cake is not fully colonized (I'd say it's over 90% colonized). I inoculated in mid May and was wondering how I should proceed. Attached are some pictures. I had a couple questions I was hoping the community could help with.
1. Should I wait until the jar is fully colonized before birthing?
2. If the answer to question 1 is no, should I then birth, dunk the cake and continue on to fruiting?
3. Any other advice or opinions you may think is beneficial here.
Thanks everyone in advance!

That jar is fully colonized. It will hardly eat the verm layer.

DAMN THATS NOT A PIN THATS A WHOLE BOOMER so if that's been since may and fruiting started that fast after colonization i would be concerned about the temperatures or light level you are keeping that in. there's really no real reason to expose the jars to such a bright environment as I assume this is in.
you have 2 options
open the jar and eat the mushroom (it will fall off) very gently brush and shake off the uncolonized verm and experience a weird cake and weird conditions that will make rolling difficult
or you can try to keep it in there as long as possible until the cap opens and the cake turns purple in that area.
honestly i dont feel i can tell you what to do but i can give you 2 warnings and then you can weigh your risks
if you leave it in the jar, and the mushroom finishes its growth cycle, then it can potentially start dying in the jar
if you take it out the cake will be really weird and your best option would be to cut the cake to make it a cylinder at whatever area the colonization ends.
also if you pull this out and it smells like hard apple cider; then you need to bury it outside just barely and get it the fuck out of your room.
when you put it in the ground soak the area with water but dont let the water actually disturb the mycelium, to do this water the area that the water will then fall towardd the myc, dont water the my directly as it can damage it.
also put it near another plant and in a low area

Thank you for the response! The uncolonized part in the picture is actually the bottom of the cake, I did put an air barrier of vermiculite on top and don't expect that to colonize. Thank you again.

Haha thank you for the advice! I was hoping I wasn't being impatient. I am leaning towards birthing the cake (assuming it doesn't smell).

that looks like the bottom of the jar, that is not the verm layer.

i dont think this is right... cubes start pinning before full colonization because of contamination, which makes sense since you are doing pf tek.
yes, birth it and hope for the best.

Thank you! The mycellium looks healthy however since this is my first attempt I'm unsure what contamination will look like (some of my other jars had obvious sectoring). I plan on birthing today. If the cake smells I will toss it, however if it passes the smell test is it possible it is still contaminated? If so I'd there any harm in eating the mushrooms? Thanks again

The uncolonized area is likely either bacterial or you have cut off gas exhange by flipping the jar upside down and compacting the dry verm layer, which is also propbably wet now and possibly bacterial as well. The jars should have remained upright with gas exchange holes and dry verm layer on the top. You really don't want to move or disturb the jars much becuase the dry verm layer can shift and allow contams to reach your myc. Also, we've known for a while that light exposure is perfectly ok for colonizing myc as long as it's not getting too hot or in direct sunlight. Birth the cake and hope for the best, as ElViajero stated above. If your cake is bacterial, it could still produce perfectly edible fruits, but I would prepare them in a tea using boiling water just to be on the safe side

Thank you so much for the response. It's funny I wish I joined the site earlier because when I searched the internet I found a thread mentioning to flip the jar. It's a learning process so not to worried, the next attempt I will keep this in mind! Thanks your all the help.
