Probably hiking in great basin national park. I had to look up a few places just to check, because you never can tell. A lot of ordinary places I've been have an elevation of like 7-8,000. Like telluride is almost 9,000 I guess. I would have thought it was zion, but zion just starts a lot lower than great basin. If I had to guess, probably around 10-11,000 ft or so, maybe a little more? It's difficult to tell.

About 7-8 years ago, my friends and I hiked up Mauna Loa from the half-way point. Theres a cabin up there near the summit called "Red Cabin". The summit is about 13,600 ft, we were about 100ft lower than that, so about 13,500ft. I brought San Pedro tea up with me and smoked a bong for the Meacajuana Experience.
It was Nothing short but magical.
Also, one time i brought some powdered Morning Glories on an airplane flying from Hawaii when i was younger. It was quiet the trip and that airplane chicken dinner was the best tasting chicken I ever had

My highest is almost identical in Colombia. Around 10,000-14,075 feet.
During a bus trip from Cucuta, Colombia to Bogota, Colombia, the driver decided to take us on a pit stop in Paramo de Santurban (nicknamed Paramo de Berlin because of its below freezing temperatures and snow). In a country where sea level is over 100 F with heat index on a daily basis, it was bizarre to suddenly feel freezing temperatures. I actually got scared because we were dressed for summer in the dead of winter. I learned after the fact that many Venezuelan refugees have died from hypothermia in this region trying to walk to Bogota.

Sounds like some amazing adventures! There was a spot in Palm spring Ca where they have a tram that takes you from the desert floor which can average 115f in the summer and you can have a snowball fight at the top of the mountain in a matter of minutes. Watching the landscape change gradually was always a unique experience.

I'm surprised it took that long for someone to mention flying altitude.
