Nice looking stones too! I just knocked up some Galindoi plates this morning! I did a number of 6quart bags before of Galindoi.
I had SO many stones I didn't know what to do. I ended up drying them (they're too hard to eat, gotta grind them for tea).
I couldn't give them away though! All my friends turned their nose up like they weren't mushrooms!

Nice haul, I dropped some galindoi to agar two weeks ago, I finally ran out of stones so I better get some more. Dry them, then grind them up put them in capsules. 10-20 half gram capsules and your friends won't know the difference, they grind up into a powder so I was getting a little over a half gram in 00 capsules. But none of my friends who took them could tell they were not mushrooms.

Nice work 99.99! I have to ask the tedious questions bc I'm growing these in jars, and they look pretty good after 4 months. What was the substrate recipe you used--1 cup of wheat added to....? My cultures are super simple, I used Violet's tek in rye grain jars. Thanks

Just wheat nothing else, i grow cubes, pans and truffles on nothing but wheat

But just to be able to use up the leftover wheat from the growing the stone i put it in coir/Vermiculite

Wait. What? You grow pans on just wheat? How? I know stones can be fruited just from grains but pans... never heard of it.

A few people have grown pans on straight grain. BREEDERS and Mudafuka did for sure. BREEDERS basically just shook up and cased some grain while Muda did it vtek style.

Nice. I guess I have another substrate to try. But if it's that easy why isn't everybody doing it? Are they less productive that way? Or what?

Probably the same reason people still use manure to grow cubes. Or spend half a day fanning their arms off and misting constantly cause they think it’s easier than dialing a chamber in. Perhaps they are less productive, certainly there have been many impressive manure grows done over the years. I tried em with V tek once and was happy though. It wasn’t some monster yield but was okay. I should try again and see how it does.

I might give this a try myself. I have some Pan Bisporus germinating right now.
I always thought pans needed manure. This should be best to try

Well I'm playing with some wide 400ml PP5 plastic containers but this is my first attempt at fruiting pans. Sterilized cow manure and hay inoculated with agar wedge. After full colonization just case and move to fruiting chamber. At least that's the plan. When I'll have a clone I'll try different substrate recipes and see how it goes. I can fit 8 of them in the FC.

I’ve never understood why Pans “need manure” myself. It’s not like agaricus where they need the bacteria to pin. Only reason I can think is maybe they dislike an overly nutritious sub.

If you are going to inoculate a sterilized substrate with agar you might want to mix prepped grain in.
Muda had a cool tek for doing bottles like this. I think he preferred to inoculate with LC over wedge though

LC LI and colonized grain all work decent for bottles. I personally loved using colonized millet to get em going.

That could be it - if they manage alright on straight/cased grain then I wonder how they would do spawned to coir, maybe with a lower spawn rate?

My first cube grow was muda's bottle tek. And I did use some 2 months old LI in one of the containers. It was the first one to show signs of life but it also stalled after 2 days. LI is my preferred way to go so I'll be definitely be doing more of it. On the other hand Angam does his pans without grains. Just manure/ hay 60/40. And he has some nice results. I dont think pans like grains that much. The best looking one nocked with 3 small wedges. Pan cyan Estero T4

99.99 --200 grams of stones from 1 cup (dry?) of wheat must mean you had close to 100% conversion of the wheat==>stones? I have ATL#7 rye jars that are now 4 months along, and I'm dying to dig into them, not sure what kind of yield to expect.

nice stones
but i was wondering the same thing, 1 cup wheat to 200g truffles doesnt make sense. also one cup wheat to a BAG of grain doesnt make sense (most people use like 20 cups wet or 5 cups dry for a bag)
what are we missing? was part of this a typo?

After I harvested the truffles I used the leftover wheat mixed in with core/vermiculite -80/20 mix Pasteurized After five days the sub was fully colonized so I cased with eighth of an inch of Jiffy mix and this is the resulting product today Heaviest first flush ive had yet, I’ll take another photo at harvest

Yes this is that 7 month old bag I put the substrate in a aluminum cake pan And poked a couple holes in the bottom to let excess water drip out I left a plastic lid on it after caseing inside of the greenhouse until I noticed pins were just about going to pop out then it was fruited inside of my greenhouse

Niiiice. I have some Ps. Galindoi ATL-7 masters knocked up right now I wanna fruit. Hunt out some killer potent clones
Cultivated these look so much stranger than the photos of wild specimens

Ok just an update from two bags of wheat i started 9 months ago, i used two bags of ALT#7 stones and all ....to make two of coir trays i and put them in to fruiting
So far im on my eighth flush and have gotten 75 grams dry

These mushrooms just wont quit growin Nor have I seen any contamination on the substrate yet
All this from two cups of plain wheat and two blocks of coir, They are so damn potent and easy to grow I don’t know why anybody messes around with a cube
