Yeast is a fungus
This tub is at Day 13 post-spawn. Seems to be going pretty slow... The coir is probably too wet, so that might explain it. It’s been a while since I’ve grown - does the myc look like it’s forming the beginning of hyphal knots? How does it/the surface look in general? Any input/tips? This is MS>Agar>WBS>just coir. Been at 72-78 F. Thanks.

I’ve got so many pins on my old plates I thought about cutting em all out and eating em. There’s probably at least 3 g there but then I remembered it’s still technically wet weigh

Yesterday, I did my usual soak and simmer grain prep and did 28 jars I skipped letting them dry because I thought they looked okay.
I pc'd 7 of them and completely cooked them and made a starchy mess in the bottom of my jars. I dumped the rest and was gonna let them dry today but they smelled bad so I threw them away. Making a new batch today.

Is cloning viable from a tray that is suspect of having suffered mass abort due to heat? I had a nice pinset and a few nice clusters and I've let most of my plates go bad so I don't have a lot to work with right now. I'll put some spores to agar too just in case.
I'm probably going to do it anyway, looking for optimism.
Talking about this tray that I posted a couple days ago if that matters.

I can’t say for sure but it seems like cloning would be fine. The problem was conditions and not the culture.

Thanks Aka
I guess I thought aborts are just dead, like a gangrene toe.

I think they are, but mushrooms are just impossible to totally kill. You can buy shrooms off the street and clone from the dried tissue even.

No. It's not run the substrate yet. Let it colonize.

This made me curious so I checked her post history. Her last post does in fact mention that she was meeting up with another message board member. Weird.
I thought the whole thing was pretty creepy to begin with honestly.

She was very new but posted almost daily when she was active she had a project she was working on that she said she would keep us updated on so it's weird she never came back.

Accidentally posted this in picture of the day thread before, I've deleted it from there. Apologies if this gives someone grief.
I've cleaned up a tray full of aborts leaving many stumps, some turned blue in seconds, some are still only kinda blue hours later. I suspect that the ones that turned blue instantly were in fact not aborts at all. There was also a noticeable change in color between the two types of stumps, what I suspect are not aborts were more of a light cream and the aborts were more of a darker yellow/orange.
Anyone else noticed this?

Its really suspicious tbh she could of been cop, or something bad could of happened to her. This is why you shouldn't be meeting up with people you don't know on the internet especially one surrounding drug manufacturing. Really stupid tbh.
