Im confident in my shoebox work, Ive been debating on moving to monotubs but Im not sure if its even worth it? Cant you just use more shoeboxes? I mean if a monotub fucks up, its a bigger deal than a shoeboxes going bad... and uou can just have more shoeboxes right? Theyre easy to stack too.

I’m loving the sterilite shoe boxes. I used to run monos but switched to SB because of less room where I’m at. The only ‘downside’ is a generally smaller mushroom but that doesn’t bother me. Yield per qt is equivalent, colonization time/pinning seems quicker on the smaller scale, less wasted overhead space, and the subs are easy to get out for harvest even with a full canopy and no liner. And of course the “bad apple” theory runs in favor of SB.
I never ran monos unmodified but I’ve seen a few people having issues trying, they may just be newer growers though. But I do know the sterilite SB runs great start to finish with no mod and no maintenance so far on my third cycle.
Walmart is constantly sold out of the good SB though right now. I was able to get another 2 then had to settle for the cheaper white lids and a couple sterilite 15qt. Giving them a try soon.
I’ll still run some monos, especially for APE, but I think mostly the SB are badanus.

I mean I literally, after my jars are done, mix it up and stick my finger in my butt. Fuck with the lids a little, MAYBE mist... far harvests. Im not entirely sure but Im pretty sure I got 1oz pulls per box, first flush. I just see alot of people usijg monos so figured id ask.

I do the finger>ass insertion to get any verm or other debris off my fingers. I haven't noticed any marked difference in potency but my fingers taste WAY better.

I did only shoeboxes when I started and did tons of them, then I got an underbed tub to try out and it works just like a giant shoebox. I agree though besides slightly larger average shroom size there’s no difference.
It blew my mind when Walmart was out of shoeboxes last month when I went. First all the quart jars were gone which makes sense, but now shoeboxes??
Makes me suspect half the world is secretly into mush cult. Like there had to be at least 100 of them when I went before, then a month later they’re sold out.

I just made this transition. I was running 8 shoeboxes at a time consistently and successfully before making the switch. I went with 54 qt tubs. First one is coming g out great. Harvested some today and rest prob tomorrow from first flush. I have another going into fruiting tomorrow and another a week behind it. So far its def worth it for me as long as all continues to go well. I can do more with less space and less work.
