Video Compression

I got a cheap ass TV Tuner card and the software it comes with sucks

When I do a capture ont he lowest possible video settings, a 30 minute TV show takes up 5 GB.

I need a way to compress these AVI's without losing quality...obviously a 30 minute TV show should be no more than 100MB with decent quality.

Any recommendations for good software to do this? Thanks.

DIVX is the answer my friend.
