If you’re interested...check out the book “ Hallucinations” by Dr. Oliver Sacks. (Neurologist)

It’s for anyone interested in hallucinatory phenomena, apparitions included.

Especially necessary & relevant to trippers/psychonaughts & drug users etc etc.  imho

https://www.oliversacks.com/books-by-oliver-sacks/hallucinations/

From Library Journal: “Everyone’s favorite neurologist is back to explain types of hallucinations, what they tell us about the brain’s workings, and how they have influenced art and culture. Who knew medicine could be so much fun?”

Found a copy at my local library.  Didn’t put it down until I finished it.  I had known the strange phenomena experienced while tripping or before falling asleep, when asleep, or just after waking from sleep was all brain & state dependent before the book, but he really helped drive it home & elucidate some of the finer details & how widespread it is in almost all humans- throughout history.  Fantastic read.  10/10.

I havent seen anything yet (Excluding UFO sightings of course) but i have experienced paranormal/ghost activity multiple times. Honestly, its kinda addicting cause the experience is so novel and strange.

There was a thread on Paranormal/Ghost experiences a few months back. I typed up a bunch of stories in that thread. I'll try find it...

Re: Blind... Thanks for the book recommendation -definitely will check it out.

To answer the OP -YES. The house I lived in as a kid was kind of haunted. It was out in the country. I used to wake up screaming about 'the Indian!' and my mom would rush in to console me. This was a regular occurance when I was maybe 4 or 5 (?). Only happened in the summertime. A few years after that, my sister screamed because as she was getting ready for bed she saw an Indian looking at her through the window. She was maybe 16 or 17 .

Around the same time as that, but days later, during the same summer, my hippy cousin came over to spend the night with my hippy older sister, and in the morning kept talking about the Indian who kept waking her up. Our run-ins with the Indian ghost disappeared as we grew older. But when it was happening it just became part of our household 'normal'.

I saw a little figure run across a street I was driving late one foggy night. Spooked me enough where I stabbed my breaks before realizing there was no thing there.

I drove the same road a couple days later during daylight and noticed a cross on the side of the road. Not sure if it was where I saw the figure since it was dark and foggy, but I couldn't help but link the two.

My scientific background wants me to dismiss this kind of thing as B.S., and yet similar experiences as you describe^ have led me to the conclusion that the world is indeed a mysterious place. Some things can't be explained away.

I'm with logic. What if ghost sitings are just weak spots in the universe that kind of tune into another multiverse/dimension Etc? Life is crazy for sure.

Its my belief that ghosts are "glitches" in the Universe, yet are totally allowed as the Universe allows for the Free Will of the Spirit.

In the book The Coming of Tan, Tan states that ghosts can manipulate subatomic particles! Would explain the dark shadow/ghostly apparition sightings!

I have not

I have a friend who is convinced that in places where many traumatizing deaths have occurred, spirits are more likely to linger

as someone who has witnessed more than a few traumatizing deaths in a hospital

this has been decidedly untrue

in my experience

Blind people aren’t immune to experiencing apparitions.

That alone should be enough to reveal the nature of the aforementioned phenomena as a whole.

doesnt reveal shit to me, just raises a lot of more questions

why have I never seen a ghost? I've watched people die horrific ways. ways they could never have expected. ways in which they wished they could contact their lived ones just prior, but never did. i work in a place where thousands of such deaths have occurred. never seen one. never had an experience that remotely made me question whether or not I was seeing one. and I've taken a lot of "hallucinogens"

How does it not reveal shit?

People who think they see an apparition are basically hallucinating most the time.

It reveals that the experience is dependent upon having a brain.  It’s not something objectively in the world that has its own inherent existence.

I have some weird experiences helping my friends renovate a creepy old cabin in some creepy old woods. Nothing that overt, but lots of weird shit that everyone experienced - place had me so uneasy. I'll do a write up on it when I get a little downtime later on today, there were some weird environmental factors that I think played a role - but I can't explain everything away with them. The whole area was thoroughly fucked by the boom and subsequent bust of coal mining, and now fracking, there's some weird stuff that goes on there that I genuinely think might also have some effect on those feelings of general unease, but yeah, not everything - voices and sounds(that everyone heard) were the main thing, but this place was so fucked I have to do a full write up on it for cathartic release.

Riding in the passenger seat of a car, coming back from a road trip. I was pretty tired, so I wrote it off, but I saw what looked like a 2 - 3 foot tall classic movie Bigfoot standing on the right side of the road.

I found out later that I was really close to a place that takes care of old lab and circus primates though, so its a pretty safe bet that one of them escaped.

I have been wanting to get a ouija board. I keep thinking it might work, or not. IDK, but I'm really curious. I had a ghost experience when I was really young, but I'm unsure if it was real. I do remember it very vividly and that intrigues me.

I have been wanting to get a ouija board.

I am an Ouija board :yesnod:

Do it the right way man, go in trance and receive the spirits, instead of turning a spirit encounter into a spelling bee.

That's the draw and repulsion at the same time. I keep teasing my mate that I'm going to get one and hide it and not tell him to see if things start happening. He's is strongly opposed to even touching one much less having it in the house. He watches almost all of those stupid ghost shows too and I think that may influence his thinking about them, or maybe not. That's what I want to know. I watch the shows too and have seen some footage that is VERY compelling as proof, but nothing very solid. We did try EVP, but we were high as hell, lol!

I personally wouldnt want a Ouija board myself, at this point in my life. I believe very strongly in other worldly stuff and wouldnt want to "put a hex" on myself. I believe some people would have zero trouble messing around with one, but then theres certain kinds of people who probably should stay away if they dont want to influence spirits and such.

Do not even have one in your home, they are portals.  When people say they don't work, it's because they did not spend the time.  I spent an hour a day for two or three days before it finally moved.  It told me things in a friendly way, and it would move faster and be more coherent over time, using words and speaking how I do not speak, it definitely was a different intelligence other than my own.  Over time it just got fucking vile, hateful and disgusting.

At a point I seen it's face in a reflection of a picture frame laughing with a look of disdain.  It was there for a couple hours.

Many things have happened over the years as I threw it in trash without closing it.  Twenty five years later, a month ago I woke up with this as a reminder.  It comes around when I am emotionally or spiritually weak, I always have to maintain happiness and strength to keep it at bay.

Woah! Incredible and frightening! Even a new unopened one in a box would still be a portal? Even if you didn't open it?

Anything like that attracts the lower earthbound spirits, or in my case possibly demonic.  I'm not sure of leaving it unopened in a box, me personally I would not even take the chance.

My wife and daughter have seen glasses slide across tables, I've seen lamp shades rattling frantically.  These are just small examples.  The worst is the mindfuck.  If I have the slightest negativity say sadness, anxiety, etc. it will spiral it out of control, they feed on it, your vital energies.

Research "Demonic Oppression"

Hmmm, very interesting. We did live in an apt about 3 years ago and there was some sound like metal on metal or glass "tink" sound. It was a very distinct noise. So now a couple years later we have heard the exact same "tink" noise in our house. It seems to emanate from some lamps from what I have heard when I am near it, but I/we never hear the sound right beside us. It's always while we are away from the lamp and seems to come from that area of the house. I think it's the bulbs or expansion and contraction of the metal etc...due to temp changes, but it sure is strange.

I did have an aunt that used tarot cards and had a ouija board when I was around early to mid teens and we got it out and played with it a bit. I have also played with tarot cards but never owned a deck. When I was about 12-13yo in another apt complex my mom/brother/me lived there was also a girl whose mom was a witch she claimed. She would never let us in her apt. One day she let me, my brother, and a couple of other friends in. It had very dark blackout curtains in it, a necronomicon laying out in the open on the coffee table, black candles, and some other things that made it look like a movie set. Her mom  also dressed like stevie nicks in that witch phase/look.

So I have had closeness to these things but never indulged them fully as a teen, young adult, or adult. I seem to be drawn to them. Maybe I should not.

My daughter and I watching TV on my bed one night heard scratching coming from back of the headboard.  Very distinct, she freaked out and jumped off the bed, then jumped right back up because she said she felt something grab her ankle.

I could go on for hours.  Dark imagery in a home attracts dark spirits.

I should mention at the time I used the board I had been a Satanist for 10 years or so and when I used it I was calling on the beast.  I guess I got what I wished for.

I found God through Satanism as it showed me these things do exist and not to be fucked with.  If these forces are real, so is the good and loving type.
