This is AWESOME!  I've asked around several mycology labs and they all seem to use Potato Dextrose Agar (1X or 2X).  Is there a general "Best"?

i know this thread is a bit old...but not too old.

what type of cornmeal are you using? how finely ground is it? just ordinary medium grind?

i may give this a shot and compare to my normal, agar, potato starch, honey recipe.

Just wanted to note that I discovered this book recently, did a search for the title and "pdf" and it's apparently readily available. Seems interesting.
