Pics or "gated community" didn't happen. And I'm Trailer trash poor btw. Wich is the actual issue. Not race

Its a historical gated community that literally has a old ass 9 foot or so tall wall built around it that was originally erected to keep black people out. Thats not the purpose of the wall today but was the purpose of its original construction.

019
im not years sober like him but close-ish, I started taking kratom ~2 years ago and for like the first ~1 year I had 0 cravings for a drink, I dont think I drank once, till December 25th 2019 I got a bottle in my stocking so I cracked it open Christmas morning and by Christmas dinner I was totally wasted, since then I have drank like once every 2 months, mostly cause I think it will be fun but usually I just have a hard time downing that much beer, ill buy like 12 thinking ill drink them all, and feel bloated and gross by 5-6, my last experience drinking, I didnt plan too but my mom sent me in to grab her a 12 of tallboys and I impulse grabbed a 40 of Old English on my way out for me, I didnt even feel like drinking but I drank the 40 and then I really felt like drinking so I asked my mom for a couple of her tallboys, so in total I drank like 1.2L of 8% beer and a litre of 5% beer and I kinda had fun at the time, but for like the first 6 hours of the next day I felt absolutely dreadful, so now my fear of a hangover plus my use of kratom, I think its going to stop me from drinking again, maybe ill make a year sober again

No need to say my bad
Some people in AA say their cravings have gone away
I still have a problem with it personally
Fantasies about how nice it would be to be drunk to the point of complete oblivion and shit
If you’re bored you can read about it here
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22559523
Some will say my sobriety has been so difficult because I don’t work the steps I just attend meetings
Others say the problems like anxiety and depression that led me to alcoholism are still unaddressed
You’re like around 30 I’m guessing??? It can really get it’s claws into you. At 30 I thought sitting around by yourself and drinking a six pack in a couple hours was something. By 45 I would wake up after a hard passout drunk and swig 5 shots worth of bourbon straight from the bottle before my morning piss. Fucking life destroying.
I'm closer to 40 than 30. Started a stretch of everyday drinking in my early 20's and progressively got deeper into it to the point where I was basically living in a semi-barely-functional never ending hangover haze for many years. Last year I scaled it back to drinking 3-4 days a week all of 2019 and then so far all of this year just getting drunk once a week.
Anyway man keep it up -- going 4 years sober after being a full fledged alcoholic is an impressive feat, SunRa.

I’m gonna preach a bit. Some people make that work but others don’t. I recommend complete abstinence. A lot of people regret not quitting altogether but no one regrets giving it up completely. It’s not worth the risk.
You know in Ecclesiastes where it says everything has a season? There’s a time for this and that. There comes a time when it’s time to put away the bottle for good.

Oh yeah man I agree. For sure. It's taken a lot for me just to get it to once a week but the goal is to ultimately bring it down to a zero.

It’s that simple and that fucking hard.
I’ll tell you something else. AA works.

one thing I dont like about A.A is you are not allowed to replace alcohol with another addiction, yet drinking copious amounts of coffee and cigerettes is ok, the meeting I went too were at like 7 or 8 pm or something, and people were trying to get me too drink fucking coffee that late, I was like ummm no I will never sleep if I do that, I much rather trade drinking for something benign like kratom or pot then to be sober and drinking so much darn coffee all the time
I got a vendetta against coffee though, I think all the coffee drinkers are addicts, and its like everyone in the world, people on the fasting subreddits bend over backwards in trying to explain why drinking their coffee isnt breaking their fast and I find it funny, im an addict too, I drink 16oz of coffee in the morning, I want to cut it down to 8oz cup because the studies on health benefits of coffee are done on a 8oz serving, not the humongo cups everyone seems to drink

AA isn’t perfect and different groups have different cultures but this next quote is universal.
Quote:
Alcoholic Anonymous Tradition 3 - The only requirement for A.A. membership is a desire to stop drinking.
That right there saved my life.

Young people aren’t as prone to have been brainwashed by propaganda.
I’m glad I sound like a kid. Kids see the truth for what it is. High school kids know better than anyone what a pile of shit this country is. The older you get the more you’re molded into a non-thinking machine cog. Work sleep work sleep work sleep does not equal understanding. It means you can’t afford the energy to even hate the bullshit that’s killing you.

If BLM actually addressed the actual disparity of policing that is based on economic status, not race, you'd have a valid point.
BLM wants to make it just a black and white issue, that's why the movement isn't making any effective change.
I honestly don't know what you are getting at. Is it that black Americans are disproportionately poorer than white Americans? If so, sounds like a case of racism to me.
The point is obvious, poor Americans regardless of race are disproportionately on the shitty end of interactions with the police.
BLM doesn't want to acknowledge that poor Hispanics, Asians and whites also suffer from this abusive law enforcement, unjust laws and corrupt criminal justice system.
BLM doesn't address the economic reasons issues affecting black Americans, the just claim exclusivity for blacks when it comes to police abuse affecting US citizens.
qman, I can say definitively that you have zero idea what BLM is about. You live in the land of camp fire stories on this front. It's sad, because you are more than capable.
You are however committing a logical fallacy, not unusual for you. I'll let you figure out which one.
As for my comment regarding policing gated communities, I am not going to point fingers, this is the pub. We all want to have fun here. If you want to hash this out move it to the politics forum. I personally would like to keep laughing at these two dumb shits who are lucky they didn't murder their respective significant other accidentally.
To SunRa, welcome to Shemue's ban list! He's so smart he doesn't have to listen to dissenting opinions. Also, gated communities are pretty much the epitome of class segregation. All these freedom lovers and nobody is considering the realities of spacial segregation.
I know exactly what BLM is about and I've been to their website many times. If you think I'm presenting a fallacious argument, let's hear it. And sure, we can discuss in the PD.

Seriously. They put up a gate so that means you can’t walk down the street. Fuck those apartheid cunts.
No gated communities are fine. It's not blocking off a public street it's basically their driveway. The only thing back there is people's yards and driveways. If everyone in that neighborhood wants to lock the entrance it's their own business if they want to do that. If you want their street to be unlocked then what do you want or need to go back there for?
Exactly, it's their choice. If people want to outlaw gated communities, change the current laws.

Why is everyone making a big deal out of this? There's homeless people starving on the streets and children being abused everyday of the week and no one even cares but when some felon gets murdered by a hillbilly policeman the world goes crazy?. I don't get it...
Wouldn't it be smarter to protest against the war on drugs or against our health care and education system? How about fighting to fix the corruption in our government? There's more important shit we need to be fighting for.

No, knocking down statues that offend a few extremists is the most important issue of our time.
