Can a LC jar recover from bacteria and become healthy?

I made a small LC jar on 6/22 with a small piece of agar as inoculant. Well on like day 2 it started getting super cloudy and when they do that I figure it's a goner and just dump it. Well I was being lazy and it's just been sitting on the counter. I looked at it a few times and the growth in it even looks all snotty, no good. But alas my laziness was too strong and still it sat. This morning I took a look and it's nice and clear and the growth in it is all puffy and healthy looking. Ummm dafuq? Is this even possible? If so I've been dumping jars unnecessarily 🤦♂️ regardless I'm going to hit an agar plate with it to see what's really going on.
Anyone seen this before? The culture is rustywhyte.

So the best way, of course, to test for the cleanliness of the culture is to put it to agar.
Can an LC go from bacterial to free of bacteria? No.
But, what you may be seeing is the myc colonizing the media. I only have a little LC experience, but I notice that sometimes when I make a sediment heavy LC, it clears up some as the myc colonizes. So that may be what is going on. But if it's truly "snotty" and not sediment it may be something else like a contam. But that will be obvious once you put a drop on agar

If it is a malt extract LC it is normal for them to be cloudly after mixing them around. After the mycelium grows a while it has a chance to eat that sediment up and it will look clearer.

What about dark spots in the mycelium? One of my bigger jars has 2 little brown chunks in it. They don't seem to be growing. I'm thinking maybe I didn't clean my hars well enough. And I didn't strain the mix before PCing.

That's probably a contam. Usually when you start getting different colored darker mycelium that's no good.
