Not trying to bust any balls, but Allium you've given some horrible IDs that I've seen. Idk if your I D in this one in particular is correct or not, but please, you're inexperienced and do not know what you're saying sometimes

This is why people stick around and wait for an ID from a TI I know I'm inexperienced, and I never said that I was a mycologist. I just throw out guesses on the mushrooms that I have never picked before personally, and sometimes I'm right, and most of the time I'm wrong. I also said I think so, not that it was 100 percent And yes, I have even seen TI's totally wrong on multiple occasions before too.

Everyone play nice, we are all here to learn..I will be the 1st to say that mistakes will be made, even by professional mycologist when identifying mushrooms from pictures alone. It is ultimately up to the individual to make the decision if the identification is correct. That is why you should always wait for multiple people to identify your observations. If you are so desperate to get high that you are willing to risk poisoning rather than be certain of what you have, you may want to seek help. If getting high is your goal and you want to be 100% sure of what you are getting then grow your own, lots of reputable vendors around.
Learning to identify mushrooms safely isn't going to happen overnight. it takes field time as well as lots of book/online reading and learning from other like minded people. The more you handle and ask questions, the more you will learn.

I think I couldn't have played any nicer, considering what I really wanted to say to that guy ;-) But, I'm a nice guy, so I keep all those bad thoughts, and actions locked way back up in the back of my mind

Boy the dang typos, haha! I should have looked back after I posted. But yeah man, no hard feelings, we are all here to learn, and we all make mistakes. Me, more than others, I know, but hey, it makes for an excellent learning experience I really do appreciate the apology

The more I research this the more I agree with Bondarzewia Berkeleyi.
LC grows on dying trees, BB grows on living. LC is yellowish to orange. BB pale to tan.
I pm'd Allan but no response.
I'll take more pics and post as it grows.

could be young Laetiporus persicinus, we need to see the pore sure, touch it to see what color it bruises.

Ok so here is the final photo dump. Looks like a Berkeley's. New young on opposite side of tree shows typical fingers emerging. Brown to pale cream banding. Honey comb pores. No bruising. White spores. Cool pic of old broken off chunk sending hyphae into the ground.

I would guess Meripilus sumstinei for these, at least some of the pics in the most recent post. Probably all are the same.
With Meripilus it stains black, but the black staining takes some time to show up. Try beating it up a bit and check back a couple hours later.

could be Bondarzewia berkeleyi (Berkeley's Polypore). Whiteish, slightly yellowish / greyish, darkening with age. Tends to grow late summer/fall, but could totally grow in the summer, just like Hen of the Woods. Prefers autumn.
OR
Black staining polypore (Meripilus sumstinei), can take up to an hour to stain black(dark brown to black stain). Grows june/july/august - summer time

I did bruise it a few days ago. Did nothing at the time. I will go back and take a look to see if it has turned black. Thanks for taking a look.

I beat up this small lobe pretty good last night. Checking it today, no bruising. Freakin thing is getting huge! 23" in diameter now.
Seems it may be Bondarzewia berkeleyi after all.
