unmodified skinny pins, can they be saved (with pics)

Hi guys! Thanks for reading..
Third monotub (all unmodified), first "bigger one". Got an alright pin set but real skinny pins. I have done some research and increased the FAE (cracked the lid more (check picture and please let me know if you think that's enough) plus I am planning on opening it up completely a few times a day 30 min or so) and added another light bulb (12/12). Main Q: Can those pins be saved? Or is the whole flush "f'ed"? Am I running in danger of drying the sub out because I keep opening up the lid? I am not super familiar with misting, didn't really have to do it on the last ones. Is once a day a good start? I also never did a top layer before so I am confused (I guess I was confused by the time I did the top layer lol not going to do that again).

Set up: 60q unmodified tub, 1:2 ratio, top layer (turned out a little too thick I guess, 2/5 inch)

Picture is a little foggy, but it looks like a dense, healthy pin set in a clean environment to me. I’d say the only thing it needs to be saved from is idle hands.

picture is taken through the tub on an old ass iPhone
"saved" is probably "a little" exaggerated
they just look SO much more skinny than the last grows.
I don't have anything else going on this week so I am freaking out I guess

Those look like trich pins to me. FAE could be better but those pins don’t look like they are totally choking out. I bet that colony is battling something.

See what happens. Don’t toss until you see the mold. It could just be an overcapacity substrate (I don’t think that’s it in this case but I’m not infallible) or bad genetics (rare but can happen), you might see a better second flush. Just don’t bank on it. Get started on the next project and improve for the next grow.

Thanks for all the info. Are you talking about water capacity? Is there any chance it has something to do with insufficient FEA at the beginning of fruiting or low RH? Could the trich be from the environment? Or is it always spawn/sub if it happens that early?

I guess you just told me what the possibilities are, so please disregard my questions. I am just bummed out but looking forward for the next tub (maybe even flush) to work out better!!
