Was growing out of pure dirt brown gills short stems very damaged in the gill area golden/brown caps
My poor phone camera couldnt get the best shots but this is what I have. This is my 3rd day straight going hunting, no rain recently so no luck (raining saturday apparently so hopefully I get lucky next week), but as I was leaving the trails I saw 2 of these in the ground and they look very similar to some psychedelic species I have seen pictures of so I figured it is worth a shot to request an ID, since its damaged I couldnt really relate them to any found species in my area, I google imaged all of them and tried comparing the ones I found to all the species from the list of found species in my state, a few of them did look like this but not close enough where I would suggest that its actually it.
heres habitat shot of the tiny one, the bigger one was just on its side already ripped out of the ground, and more shots of the stem and cap side by side and just the stem and just the cap all angles/sides, spore shot coming in a bit as long as the caps laying on a napkin will give me good results, so far its just brown dust though. cap and stem is rock hard, both of em, and no bruising at all so far.

Could you have gotten any worse of a specimen
Kidding man but it will be harder to ID based on that rotting condition.

Yeah I was triggered when I looked underneath after picking them and saw they looked like this, looked in the area around where I found these and couldnt find any more than the 2 I originally picked, most likely nothing because theres probably thousands of mushrooms that are brown cap and white stem, and like you said the condition of it doesn't help at all, hopefully some spores can fall out of these spiraled gills, probably just a regular shroom though :P
