TELESCOPES/ASTRONOMY 2

OK, here is a thread on telescopes and astronomy. I just go this scope: https://www.amazon.com/Celestron-22065-Master-Refractor-Telescope/dp/B01E5DVONO
Looked good for a beginner like me. I chose the refractor over the reflector due to having to adjust the reflector every once in a while. Plus it'll be mainly nighttime viewing. I'm not sure about how it will perform in the city though. I'll try both city and rural and post results.

This is what I’m getting. Like 95% sure. https://www.skywatcherusa.com/collections/esprit-ed-triplet-apo-refractors/products/esprit-150mm-ed-triplet-apo-refractor
I’m pretty sure I convinced my wife to road trip to the new property once it’s here to camp for a bit and get this thing some use.
Otherwise I may need to take a cabin trip soon.

Holy cow! I did look at some just over and under 1000, but I'll see how much I use this one. I like the idea of the computerized ones.

I got my oldest this one for her birthday

You get a decent view of the moon and craters but I couldnt see Venus in the Pleiades for shit. I live in the city so a lot of light pollution
At least it looks pretty in the window

150mm is legit. I have a 90mm Maede Refractor and its pretty awesome. Wish I had a 100mm or bigger
Nice pic Trex! Mine was about $350 so we are now Tele-buddies!

I literally cannot think of a single more depressing topic than space. Entropy? The heat death? As every second goes by we are more and more disconnected with the universe. The unlimited potential of the universe doesnt even compare to those things. Yeah sure theres some cool looking things out there......

That’s silly, what topic expresses more energy, potential and life than space?

space is cool imho but i think what ichugwindex means is that WE ARE TEH SPACE and to realize yallz full potential n shit anyway i luv space i only get to see a few stars around here cuz of teh light pollution and whatnot but it'z enough 4 me and moon is always extremely clear out here it be nice to even get a closer look with binoculars and stuff

The only depressing thing about Astronomy is that I will never own one of those professional research ones that cost billions of dollars and can see deep into Space

The mere concept of our current understanding of space depresses me. A reflection of all our lives being futile. That's what I learned about space. Unless theres an edge of space that everything's going to eventually bounce off of. Is entropy just a theory?

I think about entropy a lot when tripping.
It’s honestly the main topic.

Then think about this, every single second we are actually decomposing and dying every single day. Each breath brings us closer to death. (since you went there a bit)
