While watching TV last night, I stretched out on the couch and almost knocked over my bong with my foot. I subconsciously noted that its location was precarious: if it fell part would land on the tile floor by my front door and it would almost certainly smash. I made a mental note to be more careful.
45 minutes later, tragedy struck in the predictable form of my own dumb ass (or foot to more be accurate). Here's the end result:
This isn't anywhere near the first piece I've lost, but it never gets any easier.
A few other pieces I've lost:
My first glass ever, this bubbler:
It broke when a giant stack of shit on top of my monitor collapsed and crushed it.
I also lost a sweet bubbler which some of my best friends bought me for my birthday. It was clear with blue swirls and had tiny air bubbles which made it look all sparkley. It got stolen by a heroin junky that my roommates and I let crash at our place.
He also took a cool little travel pipe that belonged to me and Suffer. It was nice because it was the perfect portable size and it has some really cool colors.
Oh and he took about an eighth of our Alaskan Thunderfuck, presumably to break in his nice new pipes. Asshole.
Suffer and I also had a really nice hammer, the better part of a foot long and fully worked with swirls and marbles. It had cool 3D patterns and was really solid, thick glass. I lost this one when a different roommate tried to impress a chick with it and forgot it at her place. He couldn't go back for it because her boyfriend might have been mad. 
Speaking of Suffer, he had a cool little 8" or 12" bong which was great for taking rips when you didn't want your lungs to get too torn up. It had a cool shiny almost metallic finish. I was washing it in the sink one day and it just came apart in my hands. I'm always careful about abrupt temperature changes with glass and I still haven't figured out quite what happened.
My other roommate had a bong too, it was about the same size as the one I just broke and looked almost as cool. It was stolen out of his room when someone spotted it through his sliding glass doors and decided to help themselves.
Then I had another cool little travel pipe which I got by trading propane to a glass blower when I worked at a gas station. Not as nice as the others but still pretty cool looking, and again a perfect portable size. This one broke when it fell out of my pocket onto a cement floor.
Sometimes I think back over all the pieces I've had and imagine what a sweet pipe collection I'd have if they hadn't all broken. Oh well...
Anyone else ever had a nice piece break?

I remember the day that bubbler broke (as well as the day you took that picture... somehow... herb must not be THAT bad for memory).... so sad dude.... How many pipes is that now that we have lost/broken? So glad that bong wasnt my fault:p

EDIT: It was a stack of plates and dishes ontop your moniter in the studio that crushed that bubbler... Thats also the bowl we took pictures of kayle stealing... damn, wonder where those pictures are now.

oh, and damn dude that sucks about your bong. i've never even owned a bong, let alone had the chance to break one!
but hey.. look on the bright side.. now you can go buy a sweet replacement piece..

I once had a one-hitter that was just the right size to fit perfectly in this little stash case I used to carry around...and to make matters worse - it was the very first glass piece I ever bought (I had the fucker for years too) and then one day a friend of mine 'borrowed' it without permission, wound up accidently sitting on the damn thing, and cracked it right in two
I haven't been able to find one like it since 
..........

My fave lost to the destruction of stoned stupidity was a collectors item , no longer available , cannot be replaced ... was an original mini toker 2 the one with the little angled tube as the carb . Those were such awesome bongs . I even bought some extras when I was younger , but those were stolen by my uncles when I was a minor living at my folks house . After many years my uncles revealed they still had one , and gave it back to me . I had it out on the coffee table and my fing cat knocked ot over with his gargantuan tail , causing it to tumble onto the new tile floor the wife and I installed . I almost cried , not just because of the lost bubbler , but becasue of the history of the bong itself .
Let us all take a moment of prayer for our fallen comrads , let us not remeber all the near misses with them , but all the pleasurable tokes of choice smoke that we passed thru them . Let them be held in our hearts forever , never to be compared to their new replacements , for they are one of a kinds , each and everyone . They should be placed in safe places in our very souls ! Goodbye my old friend , forever I will have a place for you in my memory , my heart and my soul where you will be safe from breakage ever again !

Too many to recall (i'm impressed at your memory). After getting a digi-cam I have pics of every piece since, most broken now.
I think that had the pieces not been broken I wouldn't have bought so many more pieces...

just the other day i busted my triple blown, triple chamberd sherlock bubbler. My fav piece of all time, light clear blue glass with 3 bubbling chambers, all inter locked. Not even sure how it happend, i just found it...broken...that probably the worst part about it.

I went a good couple years with out ever breaking anything then bam...within 3 months i broke 3 pipes. One time I was hiking and I slipped and dropped it on a rock...then I was high and forgot it was on my lap and stood up and it shattered on the pavement.... the other one I forgot....pretty much all my fault
I'd rather break a little pipe than that nice ass bong though.
