Trouble with Oyster LC and WBS

Hey everyone,
This is my first oyster grow and i'm having lots of trouble getting my WBS to colonize. I bought LC syringes from a shroomery vendor so they should be good quality. I've inoculated 4 jars and all of them have gotten contaminated with cobweb mold. I'm not new to cultivation but this is my first attempt with edibles. I'm wondering if it has to do with the type of WBS i'm using or the technique. I soak them for 24 hrs then PC for an hr to sterilize. I've always used the petco brand WBS for my active strains and it has worked out great. I rarely get any contams but for some reason its not working for the oysters. I'm seeing that people are having success with WBS so i'm not sure where i'm going wrong.
Is there a specific brand of WBS i should be using? Is there another grain that's actually better for oysters?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I do 50/50 by weight millet and whole oats. I soak for 24 hours strain for 1/2 hour and into the bags they go and then I PC for 2 hours if I am doing jars and 4 hours if I am doing two 6 lb bags. If doing jars you should at least do a 1 1/2 hour PC time.
In my opinion, you should have bought grain spawn from Aloha Medicinals (Elma) or another reputable spawn provider like North spore or Amycel. You never know what you are getting when you buy in a syringe. Once you buy grain spawn make master slants and Petri dishes and you will never need to buy spawn again.

I would go to agar 1st that way you will know the syringe is clean. I have dishes of Amycel 3015 and Aloha Elma if interested PM me.
Whole oats and millet are cheap and you get the best of both worlds millet is small so you will get a lot of inoculation points and the whole oats hold more moisture but are bigger of course. I get 80 lbs for about $30
The reason it is better to go with a reputable spawn provider is they do all the work and you get a monoculture that is a good fruiter.

What's wrong with those jars?
I don't really see a problem. Maybe you're not used to seeing other mycelium on WBS.

I was thinking the same thing, but I am assuming he sees something I don't. Pictures can be deceiving as we all know. But I do agree I don't see any obvious problem.

I almost guarantee you there's nothing wrong with that spawn
Go ahead and use it

Here is a pic of whole oats spawn that I did G2G on 6/17/20...

For your comparison.
Remember this was done G2G so it will colonize much quicker. Yours may need time to catch up.

It looks like cobweb mold and not healthy myc. It colonized very fast and was thin and kind of stringy. If you think it looks good i will use it though.

How quick is quick? It should eventually look like the pic I posted. If not you have problems.

around 7 or 8 days for a pint jar. I've never seen oyster mycelium though, so maybe i'm just not used to it. It's thinner and stringier than i expected. Is that normal?

If it thickens up a lot in a few days, yeah that would be about right. Oysters are a LOT faster than cubes. If it doesn't get pretty thick pretty quick, yeah I'd probably start over.
