what about lil electric ones? anyone used a little electric PC?
Can they make ?3-4 16oz(pint) or 32oz(quart) jars? I really wanna skip doing pf tek and go right into the monotub (bod's Easy AF) using oats + coir

5 months ago the 23 presto was on sale for 61 i posted but didn't buy it.
Those built in electric are a waste of money, half of it goes to another heating element that probably still worse than your stove.

Buy some new 16oz jars... 11$ dozen on walmart i think
They even sell singles so you can just buy 4 widemouth for HG plates.
shoeboxes are also 1$ each and you can use 1 or 2 16oz spawn jars.
People dialed in are getting almost 1oz dry first flush. and if something goes wrong you have another 3 boxes to fuck up. If your good that's 4-10oz dryed (depending on flushes) from 1 PC batch of oat

It might work sometimes but preliminary research suggests electric PCs may not be able to sustain adequate temps to properly sterilize for canning purposes.

Not sure if this applies to us as well, but unless you have money to burn on a gamble I'd stick with something proven.

That said, I have no direct experience using one for mycology so please take everything I've said with a tablespoon of salt.

I want to second the claim that electric pressure cookers/canners are inadequate. My instant pot was a disaster when I tried to use it. I would not waste time with it.

The Presto 01781 is out of stock everywhere. It was available at Walmart for like a day but I was to late. I have owned that model in the past and really liked it. From what I have read T Fal is crap that falls apart and doesn't even reach 15 psi. All American, while great, is a bit pricey. Any recommendations for a good replacement that is large, stove-top, all metal and has a gauge?
