Hi guys! This is my first attempt at finding my own magic mushrooms. I go out for saffron milk caps and slippery jacks but have never been confident enough in identifying anything else. These were found in a valley in the west, a little out of Melbourne, in a spot that gets a decent amount of water. Would love help confirming (or denying) identification!
Habitat: Found growing in some pretty wet grass, about halfway down a hill into a valley with a river.
Gills: The gills were a creamy tan-light chocolate colour. The gills were close together and seemed adnate or adnexed. They bruised a dark blue after being in my pocket for too long.
Stem: The stipes were pretty white. They got belted around in my pocket a bit and then started streaking blue-grey. They seemed fairly solid with maybe a little hollow bit in the middle..
Cap: Initially a medium brown, after being in my pocket a few hours the cap turned a darker brown and the very edges of the caps became a dark bluey-black. The open caps were about 1.5-2cm, there were 2 that still hadn't fully opened and had a cobwebby veil lightly attached.
Spore print color: It's currently very faint but it's starting to look grey-blue. But I'll leave it overnight and see.
Bruising: Dark blue-grey
Other information: The mushroom smelled earthy and mushroomy, just like the mushrooms i usually eat dried though I have no idea what type they were..
Fingers crossed!

Yep, the trail I walked was through what I guess would be technically a small Eucalypt forest
