Auckland - Sterile Subs? ID request Please
    #26777608 - 06/23/20 07:21 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

I have found some mushrooms that look like subs but don't leave spore prints and don't appear to have spores on their gills.

From looking at some other threads It seems like these are sterile subs and okay to eat, but I am keen to confirm this. Any ideas?

There were also some non-sterile mushrooms that I think are subs. See spore prints below:

This is the first time I have found a decent amount of mushrooms and now I realize how easy it is for a deadly look-alike to sneak in, especially when some of the mushrooms are old. I'm assuming if they all look the same, and most importantly are all bruising blue then you are okay. Is there anything else I should look out for? I am 100% all the stems are bruising blue.

I also grabbed a couple of other mushrooms from the same patch (that I assume are deadly) and was wondering if I could please get an identification.

The dark brown spore prints of the red cap ones look very similar to the dark purple brown spore print of subs.

Dark Brown-purple spores would be another one, but the blue bruising is a better indicator.

The second lot of finds would be a mix of Leratiomyces ceres & possibly a Cortinarious Sp.
