AHCC - Supplement to combat HPV

Wife and I are starting a regimen of 3g/day of AHCC for 6 months. We are both assumed to have HPV - they can only confirm it in females, but if he has it I probably do as well. Alongside this regimen we are stopping consumption of alcohol for 6 months, as alcohol essentially contradicts the benefits of this supplement - alcohol fucks with your immune response.
AHCC does some other cool stuff too, which i havent read up on too much. But I am looking forward to a stretch of healthy living (aside from my desire for pizzas of all kinds). The cost of this regimen is a whopping $1400 between the two of us. I guess when you consider the savings on alcohol its probably not that bad. Will keep you posted!

Hmm... Why does he think he has hpv?
I mean most people have hpv, including those vaccinated. So why is this a concern?
What's this expensive treatment supposed to do for you?

I can pretty much assume I have it, since my wife has it. She has the type that increases her risk of cervical cancer. It has showed up on her pap for pretty much the entirety of our relationship, which means her body, and likely mine as well, are for some reason unable to clear it. In men, there is also a possibility that certain strains of HPV could potentially be responsible for testicular cancer. And hey guess what!! 2 time testicular cancer survivor here. Id like to not make it 3, or worse.... well lets just leave it at that.
Yes it is expensive, but at the end of it if my wife's pap came up clean, invaluable.

I understand why you would be concerned with that then.
Never heard of the treatment. very interesting.
I'm glad you're seeing results too.

Thanks CC. its only day 4, so might be a while to see the results im looking for. Just hope they come
Gotta say im actually kind of stoked to just not drink for 6 months, as a part of this adventure. Much as I love alcohol, some really cool stuff starts to happen to my mental clarity after 3-4 months of complete sobriety

Sobriety is like a high all it's own man.
Feel free to update after you finish the full course. I think it's probably usually superfluous but I'm interested anyway

For sure will do. On day 9 now.
Some good news is I got approval for a doctors note to put this on my FSA card, which has like $1800. I had loaded it up after some dentists said I needed a shitton of work, but then my insurance changed, I went back to my old dentist who was like yeah you dont need any of that. So, I was stuck with all this FSA money and no way to spend it before august, and this is going to cost about $1400 for the two of us

Just an update. 15 days in sounds right. I developed a strange rash on my back, behind both shoulders kind of near my pits. Not a usual thing, not really a covid symptom, and some people say AHCC did this to them, and they just kept taking them and it went away. Thats the plan here too.
I really, really do not enjoy not drinking. Realize it was probably a more significant coping skill than I gave it credit for, and well within my range of control. Were still mired in this shitstorm pandemic and I decided to take that away. Now am an emotional mess
Anyways. 5 months, 1 week to go. If this doesnt do anything I am going to go full beavis and burn it all down. down to the gwound. jk.

I've been taking it for HPV outbreaks. It's ridiculous how effective AHCC is. What brand are you taking
