My first Agar

I have 5 B+ agar cups I made from a print. These were done 6/13 and today all look like this. Not knowing if this is normal or not I'd like some feed back.

It looks normal, but maybe a bit overgrown. The colonies along the bottom look a little concerning, tho. Post some pics of the other cups and I (along with others, I'm sure) can show you where you'd wanna take transfers from

Thanks for the replay. Here are the 5. It looks like a couple may have contam or its just left over spores from the print

#3 and #4 are for sure contaminated. The rest may have some hidden contams. Like One of Us said the bottom of the first dish looks a little concerning. Other than that they look good!

In the bottom of the first dish, the growth is very translucent and appears to be growing within the agar rather than on the surface. The same kind of thing is going on in dish 2. It may be fine, but i wouldn't risk it.
There is alot going on in all those plates, kind of a clusterfuck. When you put spores to agar, it is best to use a sterile swab (or inoculation loop) and swipe the spores to plate in a zigzag pattern. So the spores germinate in distinct, circular colonies, rather than all on top of one another.
If you don't want to make new plates, you could take several transfers from any random spot on those plates(exept the places mentioned to avoid). That should work out for you. I don't see anywhere in particular that looks better than the rest, except maybe the wedge shaped whiter spot around 3:30-4 o clock on plate 2, but it looks small and its kinda near a possible contam.

1&2 have enmeshed mold, 3&4 are overrun with bacteria. I can't see 5 well enough to say. The second picture of the 5 is a good example. See the satellite colony at 5 o'clock, that same mold is also visible as a shiny halo growing around the margins of the white mushroom mycelium.

Thanks for the input. I'll do the swab on my next agar try. I just used a scalpel and scraped the spores onto the agar. I'll experiment and cut away some of the other stuff and transfer it to another plate too see how it goes.

Thanks for pointing that out.
