Habitat:
NSW Katoomba North
Eucalyptus mulch near a pine

Gills:
Light sandy rusty colour

Stem:
Seems to be bruising blue
Inside colour similar to gills, a bit lighter
Chunky and promising

Cap:
About 3inches across
Mostly lighter than the rest of the shroom

Spore print color:
I'm still in the field will spore print later

Bruising:
Blueing all over

Seem similar to some subs I've foraged a few weeks ago, lighter and healthier though

I Acknowledge the Gundungurra and Darug people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which I live. I pay respect to Elders both past and present. I Acknowledge the land on which I forage, play, and love, is a land stolen from her people. Sovereignty has still not been ceded. As I engage in rituals from my Celtic culture, I do so with the intention of peace and respect, being mindful of potential conflicts of energies which may occur when bringing my spirituality to this land.

No Need To Wear Latex Gloves When Handling Mushrooms, There Is No Mushroom Poisonous To The Touch, Mushrooms Have To Be Ingested For Anything To Take Effect

I was wondering as to why people use latex gloves to handle mushrooms sometimes, and now I don't have to ask

Some People Say "Since Mushroom Toxins Are Water Soluble, The Toxins Can Be Absorbed Through The Skin In Small Amounts".

I've Heard People Say They Experienced Slight Ill Effects From Handling Toxic Mushrooms, But I Have To Believe It Is Just Placebo Effect, Because If That Was The Case, Handling A Bunch Of Active Mushrooms Would Produce Small Effects & I've Never Felt Anything From Handling A Bunch Of Actives. (& I Think I'd Know )

Cortinarius rotundisporus. Notice how much thicker the stems are in mature specimens compared to subs. Also the gill colour doesnt match. Usually in older subs they will have darkened considerably unless you have the odd sterile sub. Lastly, the grey-gold top and sliminess of the mushrooms will give it away next time. Keep looking :mushroom:

Thank you guys so much for the info!
Really appreciated
I'm going to look into this species further to educate myself and friends to help us make no mistakes.

I actually usually wear thin gardening gloves when I forage, lots of moving plant matter and putting my hands places where there could potentially be a bitey boy like leeches, ticks, ect. Also to prevent small injurys like cuts from thistles, holly and other plants or stones which are way more likely to get infected with all the microbes in the bush  alas, I left my usual gloves at home but had these in my bag
