A helicopter rescue costs $7400. I honestly hope they put it in some more accessible place because that's probably the only way my smart dumbass is going to see it.

I say we steal it and drive it back to where he died.

Seriously though it was attracting so many tourists it was becoming like a mini Everest.

It was doomed either way.

Not sure how it got there in the first place. From stampede road it's a 20 mile hike that crosses two rivers. No way around it that I know of

They were cutting a trail back there in the 60’s and just left it back there when they left..

I know , but across two rivers?  How?

They run dry, they don’t have water running year around.  That’s how Chris got trapped back there, he crossed when it was dry and when he tried to cross back it was flooded.

I read the book and watched the movie.

Maybe I’m in fantasy land because of those survival shows but do you think he could have built a raft with shit in that bus?

He would have a better chance swimming it than rafting it I reckon. Ice cold water though sucks the energy right out of you so you'd need to be pretty damn fit, like Olympian.

I’ve only seen the river they used in the movie so I don’t know if it’s the actual river/accurate representation but it looked pretty rough.  I think the only chance would be to get in and just accept you’re going to be about a mile downstream by the time you get across but it also looked like it would be easy to get sucked under the rapids and tossed around.

There’s also suspicion he was injured and broke his arm, in a few of his last photos he had his arm cocked in a weird way and people suspect he had a splint on it so that may have been a motivating factor for not wanting to try and cross as well.
