Gourmet and active : no mycillium

Hello! Beginner here. After a lot of reading I tried to grow too. I made 3 mason jars of oysters with PF tek, followed by 3 mason jars of WBS GT from spore print to syringe. None of them grew mycillium. I waited 2 weeks for oysters, and it's been 1 week till GT inoculation. I strictly follewed PF tek, and wbs tek. Pressure cooked. The only "problem" I have is some small drops of rust where I drilled the holes on the lid of the jars. I have put micropore tape on the holes. They are at 75°F and no direct sunlight. I'm looking for ideas to solve my problem, thanks 🙏

Take the Micropore off, the vermiculite barrier is there to stop contamination from reaching the substrate.
"I made 3 mason jars of oysters with PF tek, followed by 3 mason jars of WBS GT from spore print to syringe." What size jars are you using? Are you using PF tek lids for WBS?

These are 0,5 liter jars. For the WBS and PF tek I used standard lids with 3 holes with micropore. I don't own injection ports actually. Should I worry about Wbs drying if I remove the tape too? I used 2mL liquid culture for oysters, and 2mL spore syringe for GT. Spore syringe was made by half a big spore print in 10mL. I plan on bying jars with plastic lids and modify them with filter and injection port. I'm worried about the rust dropplets on the lid, rust is often contaminatef with bacterias.

Hey there, new person here, but thought I’d give my 0.02 Perhaps your temp may be a bit low? Try to give it a few more days and see what happens. Good luck!

Half pint jars with four holes for PF TEK. Quart jars for WBS, and other grains generally. You can make injection ports with RTV silicone and Popsicle sticks. Polyfill or Micropore tape work fine for GE.
Don't remove the micropore tape from the WBS jars. Did you do this in a SAB and you didn't add a verm barrier to the top of the WBS as well right? Do your brf cakes have a verm barrier?
Rust is oxidizing metal, not contamination. Is there a build up of moisture (slimy spot) in your jars that leads you to believe there is a contamination?

Thanks for all the advices. I inoculated in an SAB, and I'm used to sterile actions (I'm working in an hospital). Humidity levels seems to be right, no excess moisture on the glass, no slimy spots. I used a top verm layer for PF, and no verm at all for WBS. Wbs was dunk in water for 20hours with a shot of coffee added. Then I removed the water and let it drop till the WBS feels dry to touch (around 1 hour). Pressure cooked 90 mins at 15 psi. Cooled overnight then inoculation.

Yeah! That's cool! Plus extra goodies like syringes, needles, gloves, scalpels when they are going at expiration date
