Solid Headphones Recommendation? * 1
    #26762616 - 06/21/20 09:53 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

My headphones are hanging on by a thread. Well, duct tape actually.

Can anyone recommend a pair of headphones with great sound quality that won't break within a year or so?

Headphones to be used primarily for music. I listen to mostly bass-heavy music, but other types as well. ISO clear, high quality sound, with noticeable bass effect.

I find the Sony Studio Monitor Headphones to be of pretty decent quality for me. Theres a ton of other brands out there too with a huge range in price.

What sort of budget do u have?

Also, if u wanna really repair your old headphones, use SteelStick or Plastic Epoxy SuperGlue. Way better than duct tape! I repaired my old Song DJ headphones with SteelStick and super glue expoy, both work great.

That's a great repair suggestion, LC. Thank you!

My budget is pretty low for now. Under $50 is preferred, but would be willing to spend $100 - $150 on a pair that someone could confirm is totally worth the money.

The audio technica ATH-M50 are fairly well accepted as the "standard"  high quality headphone IMO.  Quality wise, I think they outperform my much more expensive Sennheiser Momentums.

They're at the edge of your budget new (~$150), but they're an extremely popular headphone, so the preowned market (e.g., ebay) should be huge.

My alltime favourite for small money is the
Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro.

It`s used in many professional studios
due to their good linear response
and fundamental bass frequency checks,
at least they`re very comfortable.

depends on your budget and what you use em for.

if you want great headphones with amazing sound for a a decent price for quality id say beyer dynamics dt 770 32ohm. i got a new pair for 120 on amazon recently as back up for my original pair i got for 140(used) 10 years ago that are still going strong being abused on many acid trips and beig used as a dog toy while i was at work.

these are over ear headphones.

if you want a great pair of headphones with insane audio quality and listen to flac files then the open ear senheisser hd 660. i have never had another pair of headphones that sound as good as these but they are not headphones id ever use outside my home. not the most portable and you cant use em with a phone or an ipod ( need something stronger
