That close up looks like Schizophyllum commune like the pasty man said, which isn't nearly as good as oysters lol. Then you could at least eat the things.

Yeah I would get rid of that. It’s probably all S. commune

Gotcha. I've got a few days before I head out of town so I'll see where it goes. I'm not growing anything else here, so I'm not risking contam of anything else. I might as well learn what this looks like when it takes hold and spreads to maturity.
Preesh your help, man.

S. commune produces spores like a motherfucker. A bad spore dump could fuck up your future grows down the road.

So i found this little thread. So what I am seeing is "inverted gills" at first growth which likely grows into S Commune.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21770835
But I'm also seeing something that looks very similar in oyster mushrooms:
https://www.gmushrooms.com/pots/Blue%20Oyster%20Mushroom%20Development.htm
Either way, it doesn't appear I'm going to be getting any cubes out of this. None of the pictures of cubensis mycelium and knots and pinning looks anything like what I've got going on. Plus waiting to see what is what could increase the spore load in my place and places at risk future grows?

Yeah man. I don't know much about the Schizophrenic Communists but I wouldn't fuck around with them. I'd burn it with fire. Or at least just throw it in the woods.
Meanwhile clean up your area and get some spores on agar plates so you can get CUBES. The spawn looked pretty sketchy from the start which unfortunately is common going spores to grain.

Yeah, the whole bit got tossed, gonna start over. Perhaps I'll tackle the agar now. I have the time to learn.
I appreciate ya'll helping me out. I'm going to do a little more research and then come back with better results.

Second chance :
Just inoculated two trays with PES Hawaiian. Gonna experiment with this to see if I can isolate them a bit from any other stuff.
Quick question, where should I store my inoculated plates? What are the best conditions for them?

Wish me luck.
Edit= I found a table for temp conditions for different types of Agar.

So we started anew.
Learned about agar, poured some plates, trial and error.
And now it looks (knock on wood) that I’ve got some clean growth.
In blue LME agar: 2 plates T1-PanCyanJamaican

In neutral PDA: 2 plates T2-Cambodian

Unfortunately I gotta take a one month work trip on Monday. Plates will go to the fridge for a few weeks, or if they spread enough I will combine with grain jars for the 4 week fridge cycle, then let them spawn after I get back.
What do you think?

They look pretty good. I would take some wedges to jars and then just leave the jars out to colonize while you’re gone. Without a shake the myc will probably be finishing up right around the time you get back.

I was thinking the same thing, but there is a chance that my employer keeps me out there for an indeterminate amount of time. I could make it home on time, or I could be there until the end of the year. I'm a gig worker so staying longer would be beneficial for me.
I think I will drop the wedges on Sunday, then keep them refrigerated to retard growth while I am away. When I return home, I'll take them out and hope they start up rather quickly.

Wedges to grain:

And into the refrigerator they go so. As suspected, my job extended by a week. Perhaps more, we will see. Five weeks away, I didn't want to leave them out in an apartment that won't be climate controlled in the dead of summer.
When I return, they will come out and we can see if any progress was made while I was gone. Or if we can jump start the process.
Thanks for all the help, ya'll.
