Tripping in a thunderstorm, any advice?

So there's meant to be some thunderstorms within the next week and I'm planning a camp out next to a lake or maybe in the forest. Want to feel the warm rain on my skin and hear the roars of the thunder god that kinda thing.
I've never tripped in the rain but always on nice days and kinda afraid the gloomy weather or being stuck to one place (in the Hammock under a Tarp) might cause a uncomfortable trip. I find staying in one place or watching the same tree for too long causes things to get intense and crazy ha. It will be raining hard so won't be able to walk far Probally without getting soaking wet so just going to be standing/lying in the hammock staring at lighting in the sky for a few hours and it does sound abit freaky to be honest.
Want to experience the power of nature, while under the influence of nature in nature. And possibly turn my fear of miserable weather into something to be enjoyed instead ha.

Have fun. Assuming it is just rain and you aren't going to be in a position to be struck by lightning, then just enjoy yourself. Tripping should make the whole thing better really.
IN preparation, pack plenty of extra clothes and shelter so that you can change into dry clothes later and get comfortable and relax, but weather is much less irksome when tripping, and we only make it to be bad from a sober perspective.

I was thinking this sounds cool until I read that you are going to be camping. That sounds like too much for me. In the rain and all. With the possibility however small of being struck by lightning in the back of my mind
Now inside a house with the lights off and big windows to watch the lightning that sounds good to me

That camo style hippie truck is awesome, but my Hammock will have to do haha. (can't risk being near my vehicle incase of park rangers patrolling, they only check the usual camping spots I'll be alone somewhere kinda hidden and hopefully the weather keeps them grounded lol)

Thanks for the tip I Probally would've forgotten about extra clothes.

LOL I thought about climbing a tree for a better view but not sure about the metal rod, I'd Probally take everything metal off and just go up in some joggies and a t-shirt ha.

I see what you mean but the thunder is not where I live its close though, have to travel to get to the heart of it

Consider placing a tarp over the front of your tent such that you are able to sit comfortably out of the rain. Sorta like an awning over your front porch. Gather a bunch of small dry pieces of wood* so you can make and maintain a very small campfire as you watch and listen to the rain and thunder. You'll stay dry and can go into your tent as you please. Or walk in the rain and come back and change clothes/boots under your "roof" before going in the tent. You can see in the pic that I keep my little fire in a small grill deal. This keeps things clean and safe and approved by campground authority.

Wood*...bring a 30' length of thin, strong rope and tie something small and heavy to one end, a big lugnut is perfect. Some of the best dry wood around are low, dead branches you can easily jerk down off the trees. That stuff will burn when dead, wet wood on the ground will not.

I tripped outside on 3.5 g’s dry of some APE during a hurricane and it was otherworldly and fiercely exhilarating yet deeply calming after I settled into it. I spent most the time sitting down on the ground or standing in place going over the heart sutra for the majority of it. I wanted to feel the primal forces of nature and trip and see what it was like and get real comfy in the fear of it & my own mortality. I cant safety recommend it on account of the potential dangers involved, nor will I be doing it again for that very reason.

Hammock, rain and psychedelics is one of the best combos!! You will love it trust me. Lightning and thunder while high is something special.

Looks like an awesome camp setup you got there puts me to shame, me and my Hammock lol. Thanks for the tip and it makes such sense never thought about that

Yeah that sounds like something I need ha, why would not do it again when it can be so rewarding? The thought of getting sizzled by lighting hasn't really crossed my mind, I love lightning and I'm always gravitated and mesmorized by it(never tripped in one).. Hope my excitement doesn't blind my caution.

Make sure you have good shelter from the rain. Roll some doobs or bring a pipe and some flower
Sorry if you already mentioned it but how are you setting up your hammock? Will you put up a lean-to or something? I'd bring a tarp and set your tent up right by where your hammock is and have te tarp set up so you can go in your tent without getting wet. Kinda like the picture above but the tarp could be tied to a tree and pinned to the ground.
Sorry I'm pretty stoned going on. I hope you have a blast
If you are going to be away from public def get naked in the rain haha

Plastic braided rope and long bungees are key to very easily covering anything with a tarp. Kinda hard to describe but here I go....
Identify the tie points in nearby trees. Run the rope with adjustable slide knots. Throw the tarp over the rope and secure with bungees, hooks in grommets and in the rope. No part of the tarp is tied to anything, it's secured to the rope frame with bungees. Very easy to squeeze the rope and hook into the center of the rope, hook the other end thru a grommet. Long, rather than short, bungees are necessary so your tarp can move around with rain weight and especially wind. Wind over the tarp will lift it off the rope, you want plenty of stretch so the grommets don't rip out from the tarp. Ok, so you get the idea. Every campsite is different, so there's no single way to run ropes. In most cases you have to create a H shape, more or less, with the short length being the peak of your tarp tent.
I don't think I described that very well. The campsite in the pic is where I stayed for 3 months on the East Branch of the Taquammanon River in Mich's Upper Peninsula. I arrived in early August for a week and left 12 weeks later only because of snow and nightime single digit temps.

I have tripped during many storms in Texas. Some of them lightening storms, and it was the coolest most interesting thing ever! I used to plan my trips around full moons too, still try to now. Storms are great while tripping, but take extra precautions as stated above. If it's warm enough standing in the rain while tripping is awesome.

some flower will be nice I do have some bud, some extract and activated thc powder Just the standard hammock/Tarp setup like the trap goes like a v-shape covering the Hammock, I can raise one or both sides of the Tarp up to make it flat also. I'm not sure stripping naked is one of my priorities right now maybe if the time calls for it and I go all primal like lol.

I'm doing abit of a hike before I get to my camp spot so not taking much stuff with me and long bungies would be big and heavy but that is a great idea I have had tarps ripped apart by the wind before lol and your way sounds much better when I have the luxury of a vehicle to carry all my stuff that is. Thanks for those tips I kinda get what you mean:D Damn 3 months in the Bush sounds like heaven man, looks like you got a great spot too... And a friendly helper!

Well you don't have to be angry about it, sheeesh!
Damn! I'm planning a cactus trip on the weekend of the 4th, found this: July 5, 2020 The next full Moon will occur on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at 12:44AM ET, and is known as the Full Buck Moon. It is also known as the Thunder Moon, Hay Moon, or the Wort Moon.
Should be pretty full on friday or saturday when we plan to trip. Sunday some relatives will be there so no go for that specific night, but I bet it will be pretty epic on friday and saturday still.

Yea that sounds perfect for shelter, that's basically what I would do as well. You may still get wet if it's fairly windy.

If you’ve ever visited North East Lancashire in Sept, Oct, Nov, you’ll know that it’s cold, dark, and very wet.
All my fledgling trips, back in the 80s, were from strong doses of Liberty Cap mushrooms. We’d take the tea in Clooney’s house,,and as soon as the come up would start, it would instantly get too much to bear. So we’d set off outside into the cold dark rainy night. Within 30 mins or so we’d all have been split up. And by about 2 hours in, it would be so strong you wouldn’t notice the rain; except for how colourful each individual rain drop was!
We’d eventually come down, and meet back up at Clooneys house to get dry, and crash, and obviously to share war stories!
So never done it in a thunderstorm, but 5 hours of cold wet rain is not a problem on mushrooms. Just make sure you’ve somewhere warm and dry to retire to when you come down.
Oh, and I was only 20-something then; I much prefer warm and dry these days

Hey DJ Ed🙂 unfortunately I haven't been to England much but when I have the weather is alot better than Scotland in the summer anyway ha. The rainy season can be painful, icy cold rain drops hitting your face at 500mph and it's so windy I stagger my way along at 1mph.
Liberty caps grow in abundance here in sep-oct, England must be very similar I'd imagine. That sounds great, your having a good time despite the harsh weather I hope my trip is like that and doesn't go completely sideways. Fortunately its warm just now lowest temp tomorrow night is 13c and Im always warm enough in these months with just my sleeping bag and a t-shirt I'll pack a towel too. Thanks for your comment I now fully trust that the rain will be a bonus rather than an annoyance.
Went today for a hike at the place where I'll be camping tomorrow night. I think it's perfect

That location looks spectacular. Wow, you simply must go for it!. We have thunderstorms on the way today; I haven’t tripped for almost 2 months, and have loads of fresh tea ice cubes, 1.8g dry equivalent each, so I’m taking a couple then camping up on my allotment tonight. Bottle of cordial, flask of hot chocolate, blanket, tent with quilt and pillows; heaven
