Hey pals,
A small stick about 15cm, covered in mycelium, two lil baby subs growing from it.
From a very public and very overpicked area about a 5 minute walk from home. I know this spot well and have been visiting it often over the last few weeks, it seems to be a bit disrespected over the last few days with overpicking, taking young uns before they spore, uncautious heavy footfall displacing the systems, and so on.
I've taken the stick home to try and protect and help out the magic it covers. It was not taken from a small space, there is a truly godly amount of mycelium around its place of origin.
5 minute walk from its place of origin, my garden has the same weather, altitude, and lots of plants and wood chip. It was dark when I got home so I partially buried the stick and sprayed some water over the area.
I was planning on finding the part of the garden with the most sunlight tomorrow to move the stick too, and maybe go back to the park and collect a handful of the environment it was living in to place around it.
I see myself as borrowing and have the intention of returning every chip of wood the park has lent me. I try to be an ethical forager.
My question for you shroomery pals is, now what? Shall I just let nature do its thing and give it some simulated rain every few days or so if the weather doesnt provide? Is there something I can do to the environment around the stick and mycelium that would be good for the health, like nutrients or electricity?
It is buried near a tree. When the sun rises tomorrow morning I will see what tree and the best spot.
Any advice is very much appreciated, thank you!
