Burls getting moldy
    #26759269 - 06/20/20 07:17 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

So ive got some burls in my basement. They are sealed with anchor seal, bit the waxed parts are covered in mold now! Anyone know what can be done to clean them up? Or if the mold is on the wax does it even matter?

Sounds too humid to be drying them out anyway if they're molding on the outside.
Did you already turn them to a rough shape and re-wax?

No theyve only been initially waxed for a few months. This is the first time im trying this. I habe them in my nasement which feela pretty dry but i dont really have any way to measure the humidity.

Get a storage tub put some damp-rid in it with your waxed burls. Probably take 3 months or so till dry enough to work with and avoid cracking

Ill have to give that a try. These burls are pretty big. You think i can put them in there as is with the mold and all? Or should i treat them with some vinegar first?
