here are a few i found in the Adelaide hills today while hiking pretty sure there subs ... in the process of doing a spore print ... i'll upload some habitat photos in a few days when i head out again and spore prints

awesome find! i have had no luck this season. when you say adelaide hills coul u give me some help please on where to look? i know u cant give area but do u have any pointers for the area in the hills

thanks ... nth eastern Adelaide hills among bracken fern and eucalyptus trees near an old creek in a deep valley walked a couple hrs deep in hills i'll put some pics up in a day or two

cheers OOISI ... left plenty of pins as well gonna wait for this rain to blow over then heading out again ... quick question how long do the subs hang around for ?

photo 8 is Gaestrum triplex - earth star. Nice hunting ground! A sub will generally last up to 2 weeks. Though a patch can fruit from roughly May - August.

On my old property in Melbourne I had subs that would grow for 3 months all the way until they were just over 80mm across and grow as late as the end of September. I have never come across subs that have taken that long to grow or that late in the season since. This was a yearly occurrence.

Nice! Me and my brother have found them in SA as late as October 20ish. That was in 2005, never seen them that late again.

You can have some crazy years, I would say this year has been a good year so far. Would be interesting to see how late it runs.
