Finally found some chantrelles today!!! Got to excited to take pics though hahah we did find this little dude though.

Well I finally checked a spot I found a few months ago that just felt right, like had lots of oaks and poplar next to a creek....I was right and its gonna be a honey hole if we can get some decent steady rains.

The snake got a bit sick of me being around and decided it would be better off dealing with
the skink somewhere else, so I didn't see the outcome. It definitely was a privilege to witness.

Found a big batch of hen of the woods today, and this teeny tiny little fellow! He was smaller than my pinkie nail!
The hens were covered in dirt, and debris, so I didn't bother taking a pic.

what you are calling a beetle is actually an ant lion if I remember correctly, people call'em doodle bugs around here.

what you are calling a beetle is actually an ant lion if I remember correctly, people call'em doodle bugs around here.
I agree Doc. Used to find them EVERYWHERE in the south florida sugar sand when we would go camping.

The mum and baby lamb were pretty shy. But dad was more than happy to be pet through the fence and devour whatever handfuls of juicy grass I plucked from my side..
