Found another spot. Looks like the rain has done some good.

Psilocybe subaeruginosa
(Date on the watermark should be 19/06/2020) The patch produces big sterile subs. Would have taken more photos but I wanted to get it over with as soon as possible.
Early bird gets the worm eh rodger.... or were you up all night. I went for a wander yesterday in the rain to check up on a few spots that I was expecting to be ready for picking in the next few days. The one thats coming up through ground cover and you can only spot them once they are more or less mature was okay but the other which is more open..... stripped. found one solitary pin left and the ground was churned up. Hard to be sure if someones being a bit rough or its them damned blackbirds and thrushes. I want to start a bed at home but every time I've put out wood chip or grass clippings to mulch my trees the lil bastards spread that shit all over the place.
Yeah cooked bird gets the worm in this instance... Blackbirds love to tear mushrooms out of the ground they are cunts.

I have been looking around Auckland for the last week and have just been seeing hundreds of look-alikes (no blue bruising), until today!
Went for a bike ride around a public walkway near the ocean and found two different spots.
The first spot only had a tiny mushroom and a mangled one. But they were the first time I had seen anything blue so I was stoked!

I am still not 100% sure on the mushrooms from the second spot. Currently awaiting spore prints. I have an ID request thread here: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26755882/vc/1#26755882

First timer here, only mushroom hunting I've ever done previously has been for morels in the US. After many hunting trips with no luck over the last several weeks, I finally found something promising! Exciting!

Ugh, went to check one of the tiny patches I knew about this morning and it's been stripped bare. Was only pins yesterday morning and I wasn't really expecting them to be ready to pick today. Was thinking I might get a few there after this rain, but it wasn't to be. Gutted.
I've only started looking in earnest the last couple of years, but it seems like this is a tough season? Feel like the best option may be to collect some colonised woodchip and try to get something going in my back yard.

Hey guys first time posting, here’s a few Nice looking small boys I found (In Gisborne) the other day and some more I collected last night. About to try some out for the first time with a mate so wish me luck. Not an Id request as such as I’m confident they are subs but just let me know if I’m about to poison me self on the off chance they aren’t subs. Cheers

The season is at it's peak right now, once the rain stops the activity will slow right down and there will be fuck all left. This season was pathetic anyway.

After many patient hours on multiple visits to multiple locations, finally found a likely candidate. Unfortunately, not many friends around despite a lot of looking (feel free to PM me any hunting tips!).

For the life of me. Jesus H Christ I can’t get a break. I’ve looked at so much viable habitat growing every other type of mushroom / lookalike but no joy. Went to a park today and it was bursting with masses of fungi! Maybe I need a dose and I can communicate with the mushroom gods to guide me.

I've had a bit of that, at first I thought it was careless people cause the ground was a bit churned up, but the other possibility is birds. If you want to get a patch going at home you should look into starting growth on corrugated cardboard then transfer to wood chip. Trying it myself, early days but it looks promising so far

hey Roger, are those bright orange ones that look like plastic - shown in your first pic (post #26758670 above) - also P. subaeruginosa, like the brown and yellow ones?

Have a look for wood lovers tek on this site. Fairly simple, you sacrifice a few stems wet cardboard I added a bit of pine sawdust and barkchip a few weeks later and it's grown on that a bit. Long way to go still.
