So the thing is, what any drug gives you in the short term, it takes away in the long term.
For example alcohol makes people confident, but because they did not obtain that confidence naturally(or cognitively) they lose it again as soon as the alcohol wears off. The very fact that they can obtain a confident state without any work put in makes true confidence not worth persuing in real life, and thus their confidence actually worsens over the long term. Same with weed, it makes people creative in the beginning until they are reliant on it, making them even less likely to try to be creative without weed.
On the flip side, with shrooms, they give anxiety in the short term(while you're high) and take it away in the long term, for all the same reasons. It is a bit misleading to people first getting into mushrooms "for anxiety", then they find out a trip is pretty much the most anxiety provoking thing you could possibly go through. But, after the trip, normal life is an absolute breeze. What is different about shrooms is they force you to work for this, through many difficult trips, making you stronger rather than take away suffering, because suffering is a great opportunity for growth.

Mostly, yes. Except on higher doses there is no anxiety for me, that comes a few days later. 1g doses have been the most brutally beneficial experiences of my life, no fun times involved at any point... but I learned and understood things I couldn't even see before.
