Aerial mycelium or cobweb?
    #26758710 - 06/19/20 10:34 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

So I flipped this jar couple of days ago because a small parts at the bottom seemed to have stalled while the rest of the jar is beautifully colonized. I would say it was about 85-90% when i flipped it.

Question, is this cotton looking carpet mycelium (due to humidity) or cobweb? I read cobway typically is rare af and don't grow inside jar (I use microspore tape for 4 holes on the lid, and i didn't remove them when i flipped it), but then again, 2 days back it was just 3 small cotton ball thingy and today when I checked it was this carpet. Do mycelium grow this fast?

You can see the difference in color. Thats absolutely not Cubensis Myc.

EDIT: It looks like polyfill, I dont know what it is but I can see that it isnt normal.

to be honest, I never really went as far as looking up other contams. I usually assume I have to start over once I see a single contam. Im not sure what it is. I just know for sure thats not normal mycelium.

Try this link https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17231150

Looks a bit like Baccilus bacteria
