Impatience when meditating
    #2675847 - 05/13/04 10:57 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

I have just recently found myself in a spiritually comfortable place. After a small depression, i was somewhat forced to step back and rethink my life. I have decided to take action twoards my own elightenment, inner peace, and oneness. I know that my path is still long to achieve these. However i feel my heart strongly in the right place. I find myself over eger and I often think to forced. Im naturally impatient i guess...I meditate and become impatient and start to wander off (sometimes) but ive been seeing a lot of improvement. So really I was wondering if you had any tips on meditation. Things that help you clear your head before meditation, to keep patient.

practice is the only way! I still struggle with my twice a day, but the only way is to work it into your schedule whether you have a busy day or not. Find a shady tree to sit under during lunchbreak or lounge in the yard with sunglasses on. After a few weeks of twice a day at about the same times, your body will automatically get in the habit of it, and it won't be as hard.

good luck!  :sun: :tripping:

Mindfulness is the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience.
It isn't more complicated than that.
It is opening to or recieving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is,
without either clinging to it or rejecting it.

One must gain mastery over the mind. The untrained, monkey mind is restless, worrisome and confused. It is strongly tempted and attracted to the six sense pleasures of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, and thinking imagining.Your mind will try to trick you into indulging in the six senses. You must become blind, deaf, unable to smell, unable to taste, unable to feel and unable to think and imagine. You must overcome these attachments. You must be like the rock, merely being.

i've noticed that i can get in that "pocket" so to speak and then i get impatient which i refer to as temtpatian but remain focused through it and seem to bust through it if i just remain still, and trough this patience is devolped, it's hard at first but gets easier as you go along.
